Stephen King Discussion

What I love about King are his characters.  Most of the time, he creates such three dimensional people that you quickly find yourself very invested.  As a kid reading his books, it was the first time I encountered the idea that any character can die!  Sometimes he writes such a fantastic story, that there really is no ending that can live up to it, like IT.  Almost like when you write such a melodic verse that the chorus becomes anticlimactic.  His  works are such real glimpses into human nature, and, really, if you can take the elements of Christine, which should be really stupid, and turn it into an intensely scary novel, what more can you say?  Except for 'Tommy knockers was friggen awful!"

Well, I walked out on the movies of "Christine" and "Carrie." Maybe the books were better. And I hate "The Shining." Too much (gratuitous?) gore for me.
