DOJ to claw back funds from Sanctuary Cities - Impact on South Orange/Maplewood

thanks be to God, I have not known economic desperation -- it has many times been a struggle, but we had the ups and downs to be expected big surprise over our 62 years of married life .

Lost - Presumably you are a legal resident and travel out of the country for business or pleasure. I too have had the good fortune to visit many countries around the world over the past 30 years.

I would never a foreign country without a passport.

That factor is one that liberals appear unable to understand. I am very much in favor of legal immigration. America is or was a melting pot for our entire existence.

We just need to know who is here and why. We need to ensure we offer residency to those who will make our country grow and prosper . We need the right to not give shelter to those who hate us and wish us harm.

It is not complicated.

Before you all bring up the 13M already here, Democrats and Republicans working together will resolve this issue together or not at all.

What you do not understand is that Mr. Trump is not interested in resolving the issue. He just wants to spread fear so he can portray himself as a hero who is the only one who can protect the "good people" from the "bad people".

If we really want to find out who is here and "offer residency to those who will make our country grow and prosper" we should offer amnesty to all those who are here and are "illegal" or "undocumented" and have not committed crimes and have worked and paid taxes and are willing to do so in the future. They are here because of, in tjohn's words, "economic desperation" or persecution and are here because Americans and American Businesses wanted them here and offered them work.

I could accept those illegals who are here already, with jobs and children, and have no run in with crime, to go to the head of the line and be vetted and processed and given proper residency papers. That would benefit the country and benefit the folks.

But going forward, immigrants will have to earn citenship by respecting this country's laws.

why do you call them simply "illegals?". They're people. And they don't have visas. From a legal and moral perspective it's not that different from driving with an expired license.

It stresses our officers to not only do the jobs they are responsible for but to now take on a huge federal responsibility and make it a police issue, which it isn't. If this becomes the norm, we'll see tons of officers in big and small areas focusing on hunting down undocumented people just so towns won't lose their funding. It's a pandora's box.
