What's the deal with Manny's Weiners?

Try Galloping Hill Hot Dogs at 325 Chestnut Street in Union.

I am no expert on BBQ, but so many places down South are not fancy looking restaurants. Plain, many (my impression) in low rent areas. The trouble with any place in the metro NYC region will be paying for the rent and other costly overhead. I can't imagine what a consistently good rack of ribs would cost in SOMA.

As to the chili being weird, it is often called Greek Sauce and is more middle eastern than what most of us would call chili.  Loads of cinnamon and other spices that don't go near my chili!

Kelsey and Kims, Pleasantville, N.J., about 5 miles west of A.C.

Extraordinary soul food, bbq.

Also, Tiffany's BBQ, White Township, approximately 10 miles north of Cape May on Rt. 9.

Manny was co-owner of the village diner in South Orange.  Manny and his son opened a large gorgeous diner off of exit 135 in Clark called Manny's (what a surprise).  Place has to hold at least 200 people and has plenty of parking and has a large party room.

That place used to  be the Windsor Diner when I was a kid.

It's not Texas style but it is very, very good BBQ at Church's Kitchen in Vaux Hall.  Very near and their Fried Chicken is The Best!

The best in locally owned cooking for local folks!

Worked around the corner from this Manny's for several years.  Classic NJ diner -  huge menu, booths,  tough waitresses with a heart of gold (ding),  high volume operation.   The one in Clark has a liquor license and a bar, though I've never seen many people partaking.    Good place to go to satisfy an NJ Diner craving.

Church's beef (and pork for that matter) ribs are OUTSTANDING! If I had to 'style' them I would go with a strong Kansas City style BBQ with a hint of North Carolina Piedmont.

Mighty Quinn's.  I've been to one location on the east side and one on the west, but not the one in Clifton yet. The Dirty frites are amazing.

I miss these guys...

Libby's Lunch in Paterson has acceptable Hot Texas Wieners, and is right next to the  beautiful Great Falls.  It's a fun outing, and you can see the old mills and think of Alexander Hamilton.
