The Rose Garden and White House happenings: Listening to voters’ concerns

Renovations have begun at Mar-a-Lago in anticipation that Trump will make that his home after Jan. 20, and Secret Service members are being asked if they want to be stationed at Mar-a-Lago.

BREAKING NEWS!

THERE IS A "BIG LAWSUIT" COMING!

Suck on that, libtards!!!!!

It's a scam. What else is new?  Trump has sent out something like 322 fundraising emails since the election asking for money to  "defend the election."   The biggest conman in the history of the U.S.

Pelosi retains her position for a limited time, but at what cost?

Where's Donald Trump in that cartoon?

again - another cartoon that I don't get.  This one is a bit more to the point.

Where should they announce this one?  The Grand Hyatt General Contractors??

It's crazy how the belief of the MAGA crowd are what justifies his actions.  Ugh - can't wait til this is over.

Stretching for good news about this, the above photo shows that there is such a thing as a MAGA mask, though of course it works best if it covers your mouth and nose....

As usual, the cartoon makes no sense if you know all the facts.

One fun fact - Pelosi is already in as Speaker through 2022.

Another fun fact - if Trump's litigation clown show actually DID succeed in delaying the inauguration of Joe Biden, guess who takes over as acting President at noon on January 20?

When I noted Pelosi was “retaining” her speaker post for a limited time, I meant 2022. Of course that might change, considering the Democrats inner tensions.

Harris, Biden’s co-president will mind his seat.

mtierney - are you proud of his golf game?  Do you think the pandemic is of any concern anymore - he said no one would be talking about it after the election?  What are your thoughts on Rudy?  Winning?

If Democrats, with their inner tensions, managed to hold the House and win the presidency, what does it say about Donald Trump's inabilities?

I love how the Trumpers are all about this being Kamala's presidency.  It's absolutely absurd.  Is it because the haven't been able to hit Biden at all?  Are they merely using their normal fear tactic on her?  Black, socialist, woman with a radical agenda?  Seems like that's the main reason.

So much wrong with that uninformed post.

One of many things wrong with it - no, the VP-elect does not serve as acting President if Trump still clogs things up with his dishonest claims.

Stirs up the racists that they're counting on in future elections.

She said exactly the same thing about Hillary and Bill Clinton. Co-president is a buzzword she throws around to make Democratic Presidents sound indecisive, whereas no one was more indecisive than our current President. How many dumbass decisions has he made that he had to walk back? Dude even had to start scheduling his dumbass COVID Team ramblings after 5pm because they kept tanking the stock market. Donald the dumbass. What an absolute dumbass.

Ridski says: Dude even had to start scheduling his dumbass COVID Team ramblings after 5pm because they kept tanking the stock market. Donald the dumbass. What an absolute dumbass.

I know, everyone is stressed out and at a loss for words...

In another discussion, ridski said he was overseas for a funeral. That might have nothing to do with his comment above, but maybe you can pause the Obtuse button regardless.

While I appreciate the sentiment, DaveSchmidt, soon to be former President Trump is a dumbass who had to reschedule his COVID team ramblings to after 5pm because he kept tanking the stock market because he’s a dumbass, and this true no matter why I’m overseas right now.

Nothing “obtuse” about responding to Ridski’s comment here.  As my cartoon illustrated, we are all stressed in our new normal world. Ridski and I go back a long way. I kinda think he knew I was teasing him.

I've felt a little less stressed, the last couple of weeks.

A set of tweets which explains MAGA and Trumpism.

OMG - if we could get into the mind of people like Jenna, we'd understand that whole issue with the cult of Trumpism.

Many of the surrogates for Trump have the same traits lie, smile, praise and repeat the lies.  Always fallback to the talking point that was already debunked.

Now they think talking to legislator behind the scenes in a hotel will have a bigger impact then when the had the chance to show the evidence in court.  But of course they'll always say they never had that opportunity.

“Many voters, in fact, made an assessment of their circumstances and looked beyond immediate short-term benefits and toward, from their perspective, the larger goals of maintaining dominant-caste status and their survival in the long term. They were willing to lose health insurance now, risk White House instability and government shutdowns, external threats from faraway lands, in order to preserve what their actions say they value most—the benefits they had grown accustomed to as members of the historically ruling caste in America.”

There's nothing to "understand".  At the top is a group of lying phonies, and their audience responds to having their prejudices endorsed.

"For the Republicans, the singularity of focus, the sense of rallying around an existential threat, combined with the inherent caste advantages of the collective wealth and influence of its voters overall, gives the GOP a seeming advantage in firing up its supporters against Democratic opposition..."

OK, last one...I promise

”Once in office, the forty-fifth president made no secret of his laser focus on the desires of his base. “Whether out of personal animus, political calculation, philosophical disagreement or a conviction that the last president damaged the country, Mr. Trump has made clear that if it has Mr. Obama’s name on it, he would just as soon erase it from the national hard drive,” wrote the New York Times White House correspondent Peter Baker. Those susceptible to “dominant group status threat,” Mutz wrote, will do whatever they can to protect the hierarchy that has benefited them, to “regain a sense of dominance and wellbeing.”

Well, I didn’t vote for that dumbass twice.
