Other than voting for woman hating scumbags, 9,999 out of every 10,000 anti abortion American's aren't doing a single thing to stop abortion.

So yes, I question their sincerity when they claim that "children are being murdered".

Embedded in your thinking appears to be the idea that the end justifies the means.  IMHO, most people do not subscribe to that philosophy.

The means here are just something (anything) more than voting for people who hate women, hate minorities, lock real living children in cages, support the death penalty but.... oppose abortion.

Perhaps, if you REALLY believed that children were being murdered, you really wouldn't lift a finger to stop it.  I've read your posts here though, and I don't believe that is true.

Let me put it this way.  I do not believe in vigilante justice.  However, every rule has exceptions.  It is difficult for me to imagine a future where such an exception (namely, support for vigilante justice) would apply.   Finally, I pray that none of us will ever live in, or experience, a situation where vigilante justice is necessary.

fwiw, virtually all people believe that under certain circumstances, the ends do in fact justify the means.

You've latched onto this issue of vigilante justice and are using it to ignore the substance of my argument which is as follows:  The people who claim that abortion is murder are not acting like people who REALLY believe abortion is murder.  I apologize for what some might see as hyperbole in my original post.  If you have it within you to do so, please do try to move past it.

When US policy (or even state policy) significantly upsets me and I believe that policy is seriously wrong (or people are being injured or killed as a result) then I donate money to groups or politicians that align with my viewpoint on that issue.  And, let these donees know why I am donating.

PS I happen to support abortion in the first two trimesters but would generally not encourage it.

Before we forget, the writer who inspired the apparently (oof, the weight of that word) hyperbolic post has dedicated years of his life to fighting the death penalty in a very tangible way.

And before anyone tries this response to allow for that writer, I already understand the math behind 9,999 out of 10,000.

Someone believes in vigilante justice:

Of course, the guy Trump retweets says Jews and Muslims are going to hell.

Along with the Catholics, according to Pastor Jeffress.

Not us atheists, though. We're not going anywhere.

I have always been against capital punishment.

And yet you have consistently voted for candidates who support the death penalty.  Hell, your beloved PimpOTUS took out ads in all of the New York papers demanding that the Central Park Five, who subsequently turned out to be innocent, be executed.

Maybe they were innocent, but they were black

Ukrainian-Americans’ perspective....they can recall “hell”, but America is their Haven.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/09/29/us/whistleblower-ukrainian-americans.html

Excerpt...“

The next night, when the lights came on after the first film at the festival — a film that took place in the 1930s, portraying the brutality of Soviet domination — Mr. Honchar stood up at his seat.

“This place should be full. Shame on our people,” he declared to the auditorium. “And to our fellow Americans who are considering socialism: Shame on you!”

He was too choked up to say more, he said, and he walked out to the lobby. But Natalie Onufrey, 57, had something she wanted to add.

“Everything in this movie, it happened,” she said. It was in fact much worse than that, she went on: terror, man-made famine, mass murder. If people disagreed about politics, or criticized the government, they were killed.

“Now we come home and we listen to all this emptiness,” she said of the news in America, her home for nearly three decades. Life isn’t perfect; no politician is perfect, she said. But all of the partisan sparring is exasperating. “This country is a dream,” she said. “What are we complaining about? It’s an absolute sin.”

it really is getting infuriating how many times the NYT has sent a reporter to places like PA to report on deluded Trump supporters.

the stupid is deep among that group.

“This president is wonderful,” said Hanna Dziamko, 48, a pharmacist who
immigrated to the United States in 1997. “Everything he does is just
unbelievable, everything he touches is successful.”

“We had eight years of Obama taking us back to socialism,” Ms. Dziamko said. “We don’t want it.”

Meanwhile, back in Ukraine Trump has no problem with Putin's continued possession of his version of the Sudetenland, and is more concerned about getting "dirt" on a rival than helping Ukraine prevent Putin's Anschluss

I read an article today on the rapidly-growing monarchist movement in the USA. Huh??? If we still had emojis I'd insert the stunned face. Apparently the greatest support is for an absolute monarch. They'll be calling for Divine Right of kings next....

Just astonishing.

He has misguided followers all over the country.

Not Trump inspired, in fact people despairing of the ‘failure of the political system to handle such obvious unsuitability and to self-correct previous missteps’. Apparently there are dedicated reddit communities constantly discussing which form, which date, the legal changes, how to choose ‘who’, etc.

(As you can tell, I can’t sleep. The CPAP machine has reverted to sounding like Darth Vader is visiting)

And, how do you propose to take back Crimea for the benefit of Ukraine (and also prevent further annexation/invasion - I assume that is what the Anschluss reference was to)?

Do you think that Crimea would have been invaded if Ukraine had not given up its' nuclear arsenal in 1994?

What do you think of the fact that the security assurances of the United States, Russia and Britain to Ukraine (in exchange for giving up its nuclear arsenal) did not prevent annexation/invasion of Crimea?

What impact does Ukraine's history have on negotiations with North Korea?

Are we all so jaded that no-one's going to address the constant bullying and lack of responsibility in the tweets re Federal Reserve and the economy?? The only time anything resembling true state of economy is acknowledged is when he's bullying his own appointees and slamming people for the consequences of decisions/statements that (mostly) he himself made.

Certainly not what one would expect of a 'successful businessman' let alone a 'stable genius' or head of state.

we can only address so much.

Although they both are beloved by Nazis, I tend to shy away from directly comparing Trump with Hitler. That said, he is definitely giving Erich Honecker a run for his money.

NYT: Shoot Them in the Legs, Trump Suggested: Inside His Border War

Privately, the president had often talked about fortifying a border wall with a water-filled trench, stocked with snakes or alligators, prompting aides to seek a cost estimate. He wanted the wall electrified, with spikes on top that could pierce human flesh. After publicly suggesting that soldiers shoot migrants if they threw rocks, the president backed off when his staff told him that was illegal. But later in a meeting, aides recalled, he suggested that they shoot migrants in the legs to slow them down. That’s not allowed either, they told him.

When Trump finally does go to jail, I sure hope its that tough one from Office Space.

So what happened? Trump posturing trade wars are easy and manufacturing would come back to us.

Instead, manufacturing tumbled to a decade low. Congratulations clown. In three years you erased Obama's 10 years of progress.

Elect a clown, get a circus. And we didn't even get a nice clown. We got a Stephen King clown.

A major global share index hit its lowest level in a month on Wednesday after U.S. manufacturing activity tumbled to more than a decade low, sparking worries that the fallout from the U.S.-China trade war is spreading to the U.S. economy.

I can't imagine why this image accompanies this post (with the off-color "joke" in there, heavens to Betsy).
