Verizon Fios triple play

I went to pay my bill online just now and it seems verizon paid my bill and left me a HUGE credit $773.94. Does this mean I don't have to pay my bill for the rest of the year?? I'm gonna wait a few days to see what's going on. The hard part about playing chicken is knowing when to flinch.

New Charges

Statement Dated 3/25/2015
Current Activity View Details$142.98
Taxes, Governmental Surcharges and Fees$10.65
Verizon and Verizon Wireless Surcharges and Other Charges & Credits19.39

Total New Charges Due by April 18, 2015$173.02

Amount Due for Statement Dated March 25, 2015 $173.02

Adjustments and Credits -$773.94

Account Balance -$600.92

Are they f'd up or what???

I guess that's why you're luckystrike.

I'll bet mine shows a one time $600.92 charge this month.....

If you use the remote heavily, I think it's reasonable to expect it to show signs of wear after four years. The contacts in the buttons might be worn, which would require a replacement unit. However, it is worth trying new batteries. Before you put them in, clean the battery contacts (in the remote) with a pencil eraser. Do so patiently and thoroughly. Sometimes, this is all you need. Do this even if you've just changed the batteries, as some batteries sitting on the shelf can be half-drained.

They're really bad remotes, Tom. I've had TVs and remotes for a long time, and these things suck balls. They start breaking down within months (this one did). I really, really miss my old TiVo, and its remote. Had that for about 3 years with no issues at all. My FIL's remote is practically dead in the water for volume and channel changing, and they got theirs years after I did.

A funny remote story. I am on Comcast. Everything was fine till one long weekend I was away. Left the remote on a windowsill in my living room. A super heavy rain storm came in which penetrated enough of the brick in my building so that the water ran down and soaked my remote.

Came home, found it and the drapes sopping wet. Dried everything out as best I could but got nothing from the remote. Somehow had a spare unused remote. A few days later I programmed it. It did a few unfunctions like on /off.........the menu but little else. Tried my original remote and it did now all the functions the replacement would not. ..........but not on and off......menu etc.

So for two years I had to use two separte remotes to get a complete funtion out of my old Sony.

Comcast repair was by the other day as the modem was slowly dying on my internet set up..........he replaced with a new one and graciously made a trip back down to his truck to bring up a and make
ready a new remote.

Imminent modem death may offer up an explanation as to your hyper-ellipsis problem. You're not typing them out, it just takes longer to post all your words.

I am so confused with Verizon. They cannot explain where the -$773.94 credit came from. They just said that amount has been credited into my account and cannot be changed. I told the rep that i love Verizon and that was not necessary and I will continue to pay my bill just in case those credits get removed. I wouldn't want to fall behind on my payment and lose my triple play contract. It may have come from Verizon wireless but they said I have grandfathered unlimited data so my data charges never change on my wireless. I still don't trust Verizon. These shady tactics are getting me paranoid. Why would a shady company give me mystery credit and cannot explain why. If it's only a few bucks I'd understand, but $773.94 is alot of money to give away for free. I asked maybe it was a customer payment sent to the wrong account, but they said it was a credit adjustment from the inside. I'm not complaining but if something is too good to be true it's not true. Maybe Verizon is trying to get me to not pay my bill so they can cancel my triple play contract for $70. Shouldn't someone get fired over this? If they treated every customer like this they would be out of business. I am A very confused and happy verizon customer looking over his back. Something just doesn't feel right....to be continued.

Lucky,
Keep accurate records of date time and people you speak to.
I once had a charge against my acct that should have been cancelled. I kept getting a bill for that amt instead. After several phone calls, with details as to who and when I spoke to them, I gave up. I continued to get a bill for several yrs; then I got a notice that they were writing it off as a small loss. They continued to send bills despite their supposed cancelation for another yr.
Finally- it happened!!! They put thru a credit ---twice! This started them sending a statement saying that owed it to me. After a year of this sent me a check. All this over $1.94.
BTW... I never cashed the check in the hope that it would screw up their accting.

@Luckystrike -- call the BPU and have the whole story on file with them. They'll get it to the executive offices at Verizon.

@Luckystrike - Please send me the $773.94. I'll be happy to use it for my Verizon Fios bill.

Verizon will honor the discount internet glitches. Gotta love Verizon Fios VERY NICE! GO online and find your upgrade glitches through the shopping cart folks!!

Why do you want someone to get fired? Even if it were a mistake. Should everyone who makes a mistake get fired?

I am flying to Switzerland next weekend for a treatment by a world class hyper-ellipsis specialist.

Therapy consists of unlimited Swiss Chocolate followed within 24 hours by various types of Swiss Cheese and finally yodeling with the Zurich Mens Club. But I will not wear those tight Swiss shorts.

Little known to the outside world is the fact the highest amount of cheese consumption in Europe per capita is amongst the Hellenes.............true story. Need to get some comparison in Switzerland

Can not furnish figures for chocolate consumption but walking down the street in a typical
Greek city there must be three bakeries per block.

For example modern Sparta which reminds me of East Orange in 1950 has so many bon bons per square foot they might have flung them at the invading Persians a while ago and won the battle of
Thermopylae

Wow, these people have nerve

Just upgraded Verizon Fios to more channels 2 months ago. Yesterday they moved a bunch of channels from my package to a more expensive package.  Essentially to get back to what I just upgraded to, they want $20 more per month.

Did I get a reduced bill? Nope just a sorry nothing we can do.

So as I see it, we have a contract with FIOS. The contract is for a particular package that includes specific channels. If they move those channels to a higher cost package before my contract is up, does that not make Verizon in Breach of Contract?

In my mind, it's a good argument. But see how far that gets you. I'll be interested in hearing how your fight goes.

It just went now where so I contacted the BPU, will see what they say.

Those are pleated skirts you're thinking of.

I thought he said "tight swim shorts".

The pleated skirts are called "fustenellas"  They are worn by the Evzones,   the Honor Guards who attend to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and The Parliament Building.  They were commonly worn by the Greeks in the Mountain Divisions of the Army

In this shot I had a great photo of them  coming off duty and returning to their barracks.  This bozo jumped in and decided to march along side of them.

So I am free. A nice Optimum lady stopped by tonight. Told her what I wanted, and they switched me. Installation scheduled for May 8. Same services, paying $65/month less.

What killed me, when we first moved here, we had Optimum and they gave us the phone number. We switched to Verizon, transferred the number to for free. Now verizon claims they own the number and charge me $40 to transfer the number back.

They just suck. As of May 8 I will be done with Verizon 100%, no cell phones with them and now no home services with them.

Yay me.

What package did you get at what price?

Prefered tv, Multiroom dvr, 50 internet, modem, phone.  All for 113 plus tax

Multi room dvr.

*nods head*

I would file a complaint with BPU and FCC about the portability issue.

Where could i find which channels Optimum Prefered TV has?

Edit: Never mind. SO only.

Steve, I already filed multiple complaints with the BPU regarding what I felt was a breach of contract .
