URGENT: Cat foster or permanent home needed

urgent foster or permanent home needed for 4 year old cat. Owner has been placed in a home, as she suffers from severe dementia. Home is being foreclosed and electricity/water/heat have been turned off. The ASPCA will be taking the animal to a shelter if no home is found. Food, litter, crate and toys provided. Looking for temporary foster or permanent home to keep this kitty out of the shelters.

Not asking for judgement here -- just trying to help an abandoned animal. I have 3 dogs so unfortunately I cannot take in a cat.

Very interested, lost my cat last June. Is the cutie an indoor cat, girl or boy?

indoor cat, a girl. She does need to be spayed and the extended family would cover the first vet bill prior to rehoming her.

We just want to find her a permanent and loving home! We will supply food, litter, accessories, etc.

I am going to PM you my phone number, maybe we can talk tomorrow.

yes please do. We found a foster for now, due to the urgency someone on Facebook has volunteered (who was pre screened by a rescue) but I'm happy to chat re: permanent placement

Did PM my number to you.

yes ! Got it. What time should I give you a call tomorrow?

Anytime, if I am not here, just leave a message.

Oo, very exciting stuff! That little girl cat is darling, and I hope things work out. I know what it's like when you need to place a pet because a parent is going to live in a facility. And I'm glad they don't have to keep worrying about this pretty little cat in addition to their human loved one.

I hope things work out for this little girl and emmie! She will be one lucky cat!

I have just adopted a 6 month old male tabby, that was abandoned in an apartment in Newark, arriving here at 1:00 PM. Will post picture later. Found him on Swap Lounge.

Oh! I saw him, emmie! Congratulations!

He is here, and exploring the house,. we closed off a bunch of rooms so he wouldn't be too overwhelmed. He found his water and litter box, and he is very affectionate, and real sweetie! After he settles in a little I will take him to be neutered and for his shots.

Hooray for the new fur Baby! But doesn't that mean a home is still needed for the little cat who is the subject of this thread?

Doxie, a few thoughts:

If you can find out from whom your friend adopted, if it was through a rescue, they'll take her back.

If you know who the person uses for a vet, contact the vet. Some will help to place.

Maplewood residents can bring pets to St. Hubert's. This cat would find a home through St. Hubert's. If you are a South Orange resident, you're option is to bring the cat to a shelter where it will likely be killed.

Check your PMs.

@peggyc I never heard back from the OP except what is written here, however re-homing another cat, the 4 year old female is still in the picture if necessary. The cat I adopted today, the landlord of the gal who was keeping it, was going to pick the cat up and take it to a kill shelter this morning if not adopted today! I could not allow that to happen! long face

ETA...I once had three cats.

we have a long term foster who is willing to adopt, if the cat gets along with her cats. We are waiting to see. She is getting vetted and spayed Monday. I will keep it touch to let everyone know updates.

Emmie- very glad you were able to save one cats life !

Ok, cool, glad she has her forever home!

Emmie, that's a fine thing you did there. And I'm glad there seem to be some options for the sweet little girl pictured above.

Emmie and all other cat lovers--

Mocha is still looking for her forever home. She is recovering from being spayed, but would do best with an experienced cat owner. If anyone is interested please PM me. Her foster is willing to keep her until a permanent home is found.

Thanks!

@doxie_frenchie, I just adopted an eight month old kitten, he is right now, quite a handful, just getting used to his new home. I would hate to bring in a new cat right now and upset him. He is being neutered on Tuesday, and will probably settle-down a few weeks after his surgery. I will consider adopting the female in question, after things settle down here. Will keep in touch.

I would love nothing more, but I already have four, one of which is 150 years old. I'm afraid that's my limit for now. LOL

thanks for the responses ! Hopefully we can find this girl a home. :-(

The foster is willing to keep her until a home is found. I have 3 dogs so who would not welcome a feline companion .. But if you guys have any friends looking for a cat please help spread the word

I tried to talk my brother into it, since he is getting divorced and just started living alone again. Turns out he'd rather get a dog and is already working on it.

I'm a dog person myself.. So I see where he's coming from

yes, I get it, too... But he has had several cats in the past, so I was quite surprised to hear him say that.
