Topf's pharmacy closing

I don't know which barber shop you mean. The old toy store was down by Maplecrest Park. Topfs was on the corner of SA and Prospect. The buildings across the street from Topfs are the bank branch that just closed and Edo's bakery.

Heard that the barber shop that moved into the old toy store just closed. Is that true? That would just across the street from Topf's
If I am thinking of the business you are talking about the building is across the street, but the store is a few doors down. Same building as Edo, across from where Cafe Meow (sniff :'( ) used to be.

Spontaneous. Yes between The Beaded Path and Net Nomad, across fro Cafe Meow. They moved in when Wooden You Know closed. (Back in the day when the Avenue was New!)

Not a chain exactly; but, the new owner does have one other pharmacy - in East Orange.

That pharmacy is Lexann. If anyone has had any experience with the Lexann Pharmacy in EO, some feedback here would be helpful for those former Topfs customers still deciding on which pharmacy to go with now that Topfs is closed. ETA: An internet search did not reveal any on line reviews for the pharmacy.

I would LOVE to support a local pharmacy but the hours always drive me to the big chains. I live in South Orange and walk past SO Pharmacy daily on my way to and from work. Every time I pass them, they are closed. Therefore I end up going to Rite Aid. It's just too inconvenient to plan to pick up every single prescription on a weekend due to limited weekday hours. Shame.

But the SO pharmacy delivers! I agree that the hours are a nuisance for one-time scripts, but for regular meds you just scan the barcode with their app and the next day the refill drops through the mail slot.

It is against the law for anyone but a postal deliverer to drop things in your mailbox or mailslot.

That does sound good, right now it's all one time scripts but will keep this in mind for the future. Though, will they do that with any meds? I would think doing that with controlled substances would raise issues of legality.

Another concern would be medication that requires refrigeration. Delivery is great in an emergency but I would also want to be able to get to the pharmacy in person should the need arise.

But unless I report it, it will not be an issue, will it? I have people drop things off in my mailslot, at my request.

Actually, if you poke around online, you will find that a mailslot is not considered a mailbox for the purposes of the law, so it is legal to deliver unposted things through a mailslot.

Topf's prescription records were transferred to South Orange Pharmacy on Monday. Called and had them fill my prescriptions I had on file with Dave. Painless and easy, staff was super friendly and helpful. They said they take all insurances and can deliver easily to Maplewood, Union, and Vauxhall. I stopped in to pick up my prescriptions, very clean and organized pharmacy, and I even recieved a welcome gift package!

Sorry, the old toy store I am thinking of was gone way before Wooden You Know (which I miss terribly) opened on SA. That older old toy store was located in the strip of stores by the former Bette White Dance Studio.

it looks like Lexann is open now.

Soft opening with limited hours for now.
