Or (crazy thought) people could donate to Morris Dees merry band of political operatives by donating to them directly.
There must be a really good reason to run the donations through a 3rd party, then a 4th party, definitely paying some vig to one, paying who knows what (slacktivism feels?) to the other.

Donating directly is great! The Crowdrise site takes 5%. I think that the idea is they help to get the word out, advertise, process payment, etc. Of course it helps if you are a famous person with a million followers on Facebook. I would think that even the SPLC uses a third party to process donations.
