Has anyone heard anything from Newt's gay half sister? Or is she keeping a low profile?

Here you go!

Newt Gingrich's gay sister backs Obama for 2012

The gay half-sister of Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich has criticised his position on gay rights, saying she will support Barack Obama in the 2012 election.

She said she would "work really, really hard to make sure that President Obama is re-elected next year no matter who the Republican candidate is".

Thank you very much for this.

Thanks. It's not often I laugh out loud while reading MOL.

Yeah, I don't get it either. I couldn't get drunk enough to do the nasty with Newt.

Well,,just watched it and, while I think Newt is the scum of the earth , I revise my opinion on this interview & woman. Woman scorned indeed,

So where is that thread about how the candidates are going to make things better?

Candidates give us a close up on dark comedy thus affording us comic relief.

This is why Newt would be DANGEROUS as president of the United States

The extraordinary behind-the-scenes tale Gingrich told yesterday morning at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast is either comedy or tragedy, or junior high school cafeteria intrigue, take your pick. It surely was not what you expect to hear from the stewards of your government.

Gingrich had been invited aboard Air Force One last week to fly to the funeral of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. With a budget crisis pending, he expected Clinton would take time out during the flight to talk about a possible solution.

But Clinton, who seemed to be genuinely grieving over Rabin's death, stayed up front in a cabin with former Presidents Jimmy Carter and George Bush on both the outward-bound and return trips.

Then, when the plane landed at Andrews Air Force base outside Washington, Gingrich and Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole were asked to deplane by gasp! the rear door.

"This is petty," Gingrich confessed. "I'm going to say up front it's petty, but I think it's human. When you land at Andrews and you've been on the plane for 25 hours and nobody has talked to you and they ask you to get off by the back ramp . . . you just wonder, where is their sense of manners, where is their sense of courtesy?"

To Gingrich, the professor of history, this was one of the snubs of the century, ranking, he said, with the time Charles Evans Hughes stiffed Hiram Johnson of the California Progressive Party back in 1916, a slight that cost Hughes the California vote and the presidency. And it was this disrespect, Gingrich continued, that caused him to send the President two temporary financing and spending bills he knew that Clinton would have to veto thus shutting down the federal government.

Saw it this a.m. I don't think she's jilted. I think she's pretty much over it but her tale is a possible warning of how he views commitment and trust. For a spouse to leave another in the throes of disease is nasty business. This wife was diagnosed with MS; the 2nd had cancer. His new wife, who is a frightening looking woman and could have been the mold for a Stepford Wife, better pray that she doesn't get ill.

BTW, has Callista had work done? I've seen pictures of her "before" and she looks more natural and at ease. Whoever worked on her really made her into a tight face.

I agree. She used to look pretty, fresh and natural. Now she looks plastic and a little scary (sort of reminiscent of Michelle Bachman with those eyes).

Hmm...I wonder if the 2nd Mrs. Ginrich will have an unfortunate "accident" in her Volvo SUV on the way home from shopping.

Rastro,

Honestly, what does any of this have to do with the state of the economy?

Just as many hippocrates can be found on both sides of the aisle.

Let's move on to HOW the candidates are going to make things better.

The real issues.

Let's not start smearing Hippocrates. He's my favorite Greek.

Hypocrite.

iPhone autocorrect.

You crack yourself up don't you?

GL beat me 2 it.

Funny comment on "The Morning Majority," a conservative morning talk radio show, pointing to Gingrich's less than stellar conservative cred...

I don't know why anyone is surprised that Gingrich cheated on his wives. He's been cheating on conservatives for years.

I'm sure I'll return the favor one day, SlyFoxy1; people who point up "autocorrect typos" usually have their day. ;-)

Surely the most offensive part of this whole affair is the summoning of images of Newt slinging dick.

Thanks for putting that image in my head.

No wonder Callista looks so disturbed.

In Newt's case, it's spelled "Hippo-crite"

That's her "game" face. She maintains that look whenever they're together so he doesn't become insecure.

I can't imagine why anyone who already supports Gingrich would care -- his infidelity and what can most generously be described as insensitivity regarding his timing of divorces has been out there forever; adding "he wanted it to be an open marriage" to the mix is just an added detail that supports everything already known, not a new bombshell.

That being said, I do find it surprising that there's pretend outrage at the "liberal" media over this; I think at this point, many liberals are ready to send Newt some money, because while he has a LOT of appeal to a particular sort of Republican voter, it's a relatively narrowly defined group, and the Obama landslide would give Dems a great shot at taking back the House.

C'mon, gems like this need witnesses to their sparkle:

Marianne Gingrich said she "knew" that her husband was unfaithful when he refused to answer yes or no when she asked him directly, but she said it was especially hurtful to learn later that Callista Bisek (now Gingrich) stayed in her bedroom in Washington with him, the same place her husband would call her from every night. "He always called me .. and always ended with 'I love you.' Well, she was listening," Marianne told ABC's Brian Ross, her voice dropping to a near whisper.

Newt sitting on the edge of the bed; Callista gently stroking him...cooing to his wife on the phone...

OK, I'm really done with this.

I hear he left the toilet seat up also! Bastage!!

Woman scorned, just like I said.

Marianne, take the $$ they paid you and take a nice long vacation. Get a massage. Maybe now after over a decade you can move on. oh oh

Honestly - It is a privilege to be invited to fly on Air Force One ... and then he's snubbed because they asked him to exit by the rear door?

I know that this isn't what this thread is about, but when I'm flying, I wish that they would use the rear doors ... we could get out a LOT faster. (The Hawaiian island-hopper flights did that when we were there and it was wonderful!)

It is a snub for the Speaker if the House to be told to exit via the rear of the plane. But I'd bet Clinton didn't make that call.

Sly, really? Comparing cheating on your wife and asking her to just accept that you want to sleep with other women is a similar offense to leaving the toilet seat up?

I've already said that I don't think this will change anyone's mind about Newt and that I posted it only for childish reasons. But had this been Clinton, you'd be all over it. And if someone compared Clinton's actions to leaving the toilet seat up, you'd have a fit.

;-)

It's pretty obvious Bill and Hilary have an 'arrangement' similar to what Newt wanted, no?

If so, it's because Hilary was ok with it.

I think for a very long time the arrangement between Bill and Hillary has been VERY different than what Newt wanted.

If you're cool with your "arrangement" and as someone mentioned earlier, are consenting adults, then hey, whatever moves you. Marianne evidently was NOT cool with it. To say to anyone to shrug it off and get over it is demeaning to what they have gone through. To top it off, she was battling MS and as she said, her doc specifically said to both she and Newt that Marianne was not to be stressed. So what does he do? He openly cheats on her and then asks her for a divorce when he can't get his way? Nah, that can't be stressful.

The Bill and Hillary arrangement: it was reported that Hillary was behind (as in insisting upon) Clinton's defense against the Paula Jones suit of sexual harassment which was settled for hundreds of thousands of dollars. What was her arrangement with Bill when he discounted the Gennifer Flowers story and trashed her for even alleging it happened?

Newt is still much worse than Bill Clinton, though.

Another good point for Mitt-his wife of over 40 years is fighting MS, and he's loyal and true to her.
