the BOE Election

An advantage of voting by mail is that you don't have to rely on a sharpie if you want to write in a candidate's name.  An advantage of voting in person at your assigned polling place, at least my assigned polling place, is that pre-printed labels were on offer to paste in the write in boxes on the ballot.  On the whole, the write in campaign for school board member was far better advertised and far better organized than local write in campaigns I can recall in the past.  Even if the two write in candidates did not win, they certainly made an impact on this election.

I noticed that. I’m not sure I agree with it though.

Here’s unofficial results from the county.

Chris Christie! Tom Keane! Jim McGreevey!  Someone has a sense of humor.

But those are impressive numbers for Mazzochi and Bennett.

Yeah, the second page has wrote-in votes for “Al Pachino”, Joe Pesci, Bob Deniro, Dean Dafis and Vic DeLuca. One person just wrote in “Taylor”.  Either a Swiftie or someone who wants our current superintendent reinstated.

I saw that here on Village Green.

When I voted they asked me if I needed a pen in order to do a write-in vote since the Sharpie doesn't work. Doesn't that ruin the confidentiality?

When I voted all of the pens, etc, were in the little kiosk where I filled out the ballot.
