Stealing an election in broad daylight

They must be pretty scared of losing Texas

Arent these rural counties where you have to drive for miles to drop your ballot of, mostly Republican?

Rural counties usually have many polling places. Trump Republicans generally have no problem using voting stations. Those who take COVID seriously are mostly Democrats who wanting to use a ballot box may have the inconvenience of traveling a distance.

Cities, often Democratic, may not have sufficient voting stations due to the high population density and this years lack of elderly poll workers. Considering the pandemic and inconvenience of long lines many may be discouraged and may instead prefer their counties only ballot box. It may not even be in their city. Good luck getting there especially if you don't have a car.

Look, everyone with at least half a brain knows mail voting is not a fraud issue. Republicans with their fear mongering are trying to make it one. The validation procedure used at the polling station is the same as for mail in. When I voted at the polling station they checked my signature, nothing else. With mail in the same signature validation is done. The difference is it done in the election office. Also, if your signature didn't match you can resolve that while at the polling station. Yes, mail in can get lost in the mail but we now have numerous ballot boxes that Republicans are fighting to prevent.

Republicans market one thing. Fear. They fear monger mail in voting, BLM, GLBTQ, riots, looting, defunding of police, Obamacare (socialism), immigrants, and so on. Be afraid, but vote for us and we will protect you.

a victory for the good guys and for us locally, but increasingly it just depends on what court hears the case.

Last night, Pence boasted about his and Trump's efforts to limit the ability of people to vote: "President Trump and I are fighting every day in courthouses to prevent Joe Biden and Kamala Harris from changing the rules and creating this universal mail in voting that’ll create a massive opportunity for voter fraud."

Let's face it, there are more democrats than there are republicans (although there are even more independents, so why there are still only two parties is beyond me).

good news in TX. Not sure if there's more court tomfoolery to come though

good news short lived in TX. we're a damn 3rd world country when it comes to voting rights.

Meanwhile, stealing next decade's elections! Brought to you by the Supreme Court of the US!

https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/13/politics/supreme-court-census/index.html

here's some data on how Repub court packing has played into the election theft

Yesterday's 4-4 SCOTUS decision portends some ominous sh!t.

I have rarely (never?) been as scared about the state of our democracy as I am today.

With Barrett on the court, the odds of SCOTUS stealing the election for the R's have gone through the roof.

Josh is (to me) frequently off base. But he nails it succinctly here.

they will leave no stone unturned

Our Kings have spoken. Apparently they don't even need to give us a reason anymore.

Here's a deeper dive into this mess.

That’s typical for Supreme Court orders.

The Trump campaign denies hiring them...

Alabama doesn't matter much for the Presidential race, but this could affect the Doug Jones Senate race.

I really hope PA is not important to the outcome.

This whole thing about not counting until election day is ridiculous and a huge imposition on already burdened (and now often under-staffed) election officials.  I am utterly (and almost literally) sick of one side trying at every opportunity to squeeze down the vote:  disqualifying voters, limiting voting locations, squeezing the time for early/absentee voting, and whatever else they come up with.  Third world corruption.

I'll spare you a rant about the census. The census!!  Has always been the foundation of our government in too many ways to count (count!), and now they're trying to chip away at that too.

And whatever they're "trying" to do is about to be able to sail right through the courts. :_ (

eta:  Somebody give me a positive for today??

Yes, you can vote next week

Too late, basil.  cheese   I put my Wis absentee ballot in the drop box a couple of weeks ago.  However, i can nag my son about getting to the polls in Philadelphia, since that's his plan.

meanwhile, the former AG warns us.

How much does the average American know what kind of precipice we're on? Our election systems have all gone down the toilet.

Maybe I'm stating the obvious, but I just realized something tonight.

When Trump first started to push the idea that late ballots were illegitimate a few months ago, I thought it was kind of an odd take. I didn't quite get it.

Now that I see that most of these recent court decisions, whether circuit court or SCOTUS, have focused on late ballots in one way or another, I see now that the fix has been in for awhile.

Couple that with DeJoy's sabotage of the postal service and it all comes together.

I hope someone investigates this.

Thing is, unless you get really bad weather - flooding, hurricanes etc so people obviously can’t vote in large chunks of the country - I’m not sure anyone’s going to be paying attention because of media concentration. I reckon only something that actually halts voting will make that difference.
wishing you all good luck, and that good sense prevails. I’m thankful that both hold sway here where major storm bands are interrupting electrical services in half the State just before 1pm, and polls don’t officially close for another 5 hours.
