Clever response, but wrong. Sometimes you just have to set the record straight. For your own self-respect. Your giving my comment a smutty rewrite was unfair and not reflective of me at all. Maybe you have been reading the stalker’s comments and were infected.
But, in the spirit of the quarantine’s making us all paranoid and edgy, let’s agree to disagree.
what is "smutty" about the phrase "hands up" in the context of ventriloquism?

Sentence construction. I *think* mtierney meant that Senator Warren would be operating Biden like a puppet, as there's some weird meme going around that he looks like one, hence the "hands up" part of the paragraph, but the word ventriloquist appears very early on in the paragraph doesn't seem to correlate with the "hands up" section, leading some to believe it's referencing Biden's "handsiness" with regards to women.
I didn't walk away with anything because the whole paragraph confused the heck out of me when I read it, so...

yes. it read to me like sentences cut and pasted together from different paragraphs.

Had to create this to counter after this report came out in the NY Times.

WASHINGTON — President Trump arrives in the Oval Office these days as late as noon, when he is usually in a sour mood after his morning marathon of television.
He has been up in the White House master bedroom as early as 5 a.m. watching Fox News, then CNN, with a dollop of MSNBC thrown in for rage viewing. He makes calls with the TV on in the background, his routine since he first arrived at the White House.
But now there are differences.
The president sees few allies no matter which channel he clicks. He is angry even with Fox, an old security blanket, for not portraying him as he would like to be seen. And he makes time to watch Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s briefings from New York, closely monitoring for a sporadic compliment or snipe.

The “sigh” was over the top. No Kleenex in sight though.
this is everything wrong with this country in eleven words. The tweets aren't over the top. The sigh in reaction to such presidential lunacy is, however.
Mtierney - thanks for posting that - I removed it since it had some of your personal info.

Thanks. I can delete the photos, but where should I toss the email? ? How can I disinfect my mailbox?
Will it be helpful to track down how this happened? FYI — I do not use that as my password.
Your mailbox should be fine - most damaging email involves clicking on an attachment. Also - if that wasn't your MOL password - then why did you attribute that spam to Maplewood Online?
Because I had read about this password leak or whatever on MOL and when this funky email arrived, I figured this was the connection. Am I wrong?

did the funky email mention MOL? If not, it had nothing to do with MOL.
Jamie...
I had just read a post discussing a MOL issue, then opened my email, and found the nasty email. Since then I have received several more, from different sources. I just move them direct to trash.

As I am no longer in the basement, I wondered whether I should sink this thread myself, or put it to politics “light”, starting with the above link. This link crosses all political lines, but instills hope to a beleaguered nation and its frightened citizens.
Politics in a free America — warts and all — still beats any other form of government in the world.
I kid you not — this can turn out to be very good news. No bovine’s hurt in the process.

why is that? what makes our system so much better than anyone else's? It actually kind of sucks in many ways. (hello electoral college!)
How much do you even know about other forms of government?

Much of what I know I have learned from experience, education, and observation. I grew up in the eras of totalitarianism, the Nazi era, Socialism, and Communism. Failed attempts to control governments.

And yet you demonstrate to us here every single day that you understand absolutely nothing. Disagree? Ok, go ahead and post a picture of a cat.

My kids are having a similar experience.
If the purpose of this thread is to share good news rather than argue politics, it should be moved from this category.
I did not bring politics to this thread. This question by DB triggered the knee jerk reaction of the stalkers.
Some wag once said that all things are political.

See clarification above.
Also, any good news in global politics is good news.
STANV, have you been promoted? I did not get the memo.
edited to add: finding good news in the world of politics is going to be hard work, but I intend to try.
