If she frames it that corporations are responsible for inflation, I agree. None of them are big enough to do so.

I have been lauding Kamala's decisions, and I get being concerned about price gouging but "going after" that is the first policy mistake she might be making. Certainly there is a long history of the disaster of price controls. She has not explained exactly what she means, and "calling out and moral suasion" are fine and could be effective, but the language evokes fears of price controls which would be a very serious error. Perhaps as devastating as Trump's ridiculous Tariff ideas. Every time Trump talks about the economy he shows how ignorant he is of how things actually work. I think Tillerson was right, he is a moron. I am hoping Kamala does not have price controls in her plans.
(start drummerboy broken record)
the problem here is, as usual, that the media is misreporting what she has proposed.
Most importantly, she has not proposed price controls.
Any misgivings you may have should be directed at the media, not Harris.
If, say, Shoprite has the same profit margin today than they did before this current round of inflation, then they are not price gouging.
Then take a look at the profit margins of Shoprite's vendors. If there's nothing there, there's nothing there. However, it's hard to look at groceries in particular and not wonder if somewhere in the chain, somebody's bumping prices up in ways that don't reflect their costs, to see if the higher prices will stick. Again, if there's nothing there... but worth taking a look and if justified doing some jawboning (where's Lyndon when you need him?).
eta: but yes, stay away from anything that looks like price controls. Anybody else remember totally empty meat cases when Nixon tried that in 1970s?

Among Harris's first actions as President must be a Warren-Commission-type investigation into the Trump "shooting." The truly cynical view (mine) is that this was a conspiracy/fraud to make Trump appear to be shot and make hm a martyr to his base. Ultimately, if this is found to be true, murder charges should be brought against the conspirators.

I just don't see why incompetence warrants a high-level commission.

High-level, mid-level, no-level, I don't care. I think it was a fraud perpetrated against the population and a man was killed.

Incompetence isn't fraud.

I think TSMTs point is maybe it wasn’t incompetence. Maybe it was a staged event to boost Trump’s image. Which inadvertently caused a bystander’s death. Stranger things have happened (although this would be high on the strangeness bell curve) and I’m not 100% willing to write off a bizarro conspiracy.
Although, from what I’ve heard it was due to errors and was preventable. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Justice department was already closely looking into the background of the shooting. I’m not sure it calls for a special investigation of any kind. But I do think the hastily-called Congressional hearings were premature and insufficient.
Trump needs to disappear into courtrooms after this election. No one should mention him or give him a minute of air time. Why investigate that event? Move forward. Leave him behind

Just airbrush DJT out of the spotlight.
I have no fear of Kamala Harris. What I’m concerned about is the republicans are mistaking her kindness for weakness, and they will try to portray her as a weak woman. I think they’re going to be in for some serious backlash.
Joe Biden is the ER nurse who stopped the bleeding… Kamala is the wound specialist who will heal this nation. Some of you still don’t believe that Joe was strategic in his role, remember he suggested to Jimmy Carter to pick a black woman as his running mate… Jimmy refused… the rest is history.

It is likely that the Biden spending contributed a little to inflation, but the big culprits are the pandemic, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Avian flu doesn’t help either with the cost of eggs and chicken.

Yes, and Russia just blew up another ship carrying grain destined for ____. So grain $++ for everyone.

as a kid I remember going with my mom to the local Italian neighborhood to buy freshly killed chickens. I honestly thought that was now an antiquated thing and didn't exist here anymore.

Last time I was in the Ironbound - probably 10+ years ago - there were places selling live poultry.

One of the markets in the article is in Queens. It's a pretty graphic description. Truthfully the conditions at factory farms are bad as well. I recommend to everyone to read Slaughterhouse. While some is graphic, it is a pretty heroic undercover operation by Gail Eisnitz who tackles the issue from health standards, the treatment of undocumented workers and the humane viewpoint. She also reveals the twists and legal turns as agricultural inspectors do not do their jobs. I don't remember much coverage on the ecological impact. What is heroic about it is not only the risk she undergoes as she is dealing with some rough people, but in the midst of her work she is diagnosed with breast cancer but continues the expose.
Objective coverage from Republican speechwriter for Bush, who just happens to be vegan, is Matthew Scully's Dominion. His position gave him access to factory farms across the country.
Senator Cory Booker. and Rep. Ro Khanna introduced the Farm System Reform Act in 2019.
Original cosponsors of the "Farm System Reform Act" include Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) in the Senate, and Reps. Booker also introduced The Industrial Accountability Act,
