I am all for doing things to help the situation. There are many that will not cost any money (or even save money).

Right. Which is why an adult, as opposed to a talking ass, would look at the PDs that have made improvements to see how they did it and how much it cost.
OK. Then why is your and GL2's and others default position that we need to spend more money?
what value do you place on Philando Castiles life, on Alton Sterlings? on any of the to many to list here, unarmed who were killed?

You asking O'ReillyZoinks. He doesn't care about anybody but his immediate family.

This is when morality conflicts with ideology, the only answer is to change the question or get #woke

The news I read and watched mentions Philando Castile and Alton Sterling were armed

Legally and neither had displayed his weapon. In fact, it appears that the only reason the officer knew Castile was armed was because Castile advised him of that fact.

Being a jerk is using every excuse to get government to take and spend more money.
Quality reengineering usually saves money. Except in government. Where they spend money but usually do not even get quality.
Without saying it, you admitted that no matter the cost, it isn't your life or the life of your son/daughter/uncle/father at risk so why bother spending money to effect change? BTW, you did get something right: "our money." Not yours solely to decide on how it's spent. I didn't want to spend money on a never ending war but here I am, still funneling money into that never ending war.
I spent $20 the other day on items I can't even remember. I'd gladly spend another $20 in perpetuity to fix a problem that plagues our nation, tears us to shreds, divides us, incites us and essentially makes it more and more troubling for my family, maybe not yours, but my family to travel, walk, shop and drive safely.

The sentence I read, accounting for what I took to be typos, was: "Or any of the too many to list here, unarmed who were killed?"

To "Driving while Black" or "Walking while Black" shall we now add "Exercising one's Second Amendment Rights while Black" as a crime?

I think typos or misspellings, to instead of too. but the issue isn't the arming -its the killing. I guess according to lord_pabulum an armed black man is asking to be murdered. Still the total number of the unarmed is extraordinary and isn't stopping or slowing down.
reposting this one...
whats the answer here? i find it offensive the pretzels people twist themselves into to ignore the truth.

For all intents and purposes, "Exercising one's Second Amendment Rights while Black" is already treated as a crime in many cases.

Your guess is wrong.

"Training money," for the 2nd time. And better pay to attract better candidates. Ya know what it takes to become a cop in some areas? Not much. Major cities spend lots, but many smaller jurisdictions employ Boss Hogg's nephews and other relatives. The Tamir Rice killer had been canned by another department; the cops who killed the guy while subduing him had many violations and little experience; the "deputy" who chased, tackled and shot a guy (I forget where) dead was a volunteer with a gun.

Period.
Heres another man gunned down in Texas... can't wait to see the police lies about their missing videos. note that the video is a cell phone video of the gas station surveillance - lets see if that is also confiscated and lost somehow.

To answer your later question: no pretzels, but I've no clue what that's showing me. I've got a guy waving his arms about in traffic, with a gun that I can't tell where pointed, getting shot by police. If he's waving the gun at PD or vehicles passing by, I can see the shooting as being called justified. If he's holding the gun in the air with his hands up, then no.
They should defund Tasers, baton and sprays because it's evident that these devices are rarely used.
If I were trained in a martial arts, that would be my first defense mechanism. My training would kick in automatically and I would be able to attack w/out killing, allowing me to escape and then call the police. Some of these officers are like "Eff that Taser. Eff that spray. I'm not chasing after anyone. I have a Glock."
