Is there any consequence to lying?

we sent in 175k troops. You think results would have been "better" (whatever that means) if we had sent more?

Don't forget, the Bushies were expecting to be greeted as liberators.

Not "better". But As I've mentioned many times before, if you're going to choose to invade a country, you do it right and with overwhelming forces. It was only one of a thousand mistakes the Bush Admin made in that regard.

I guess I just don't understand what you think the outcome would have been with a more massive force. The military part was a piece of cake. The aftermath was the problem, and no number of troops would have made that better.

I'm not here to get in the weeds about this. We've been over this a million times ever since I joined this site.

I have to say that I don't recall that point ever being made. Maybe I wasn't around.

But OK.

A typical interview in the lying life of T****

I think this guy wins the major fibber award, and he was a media darling. He could have gotten an anchor spot on MSNBC, considered running for president, and the talk shows ate him up.

AND - he's in jail!  LOL  at least we're on the same page that liars should be held accountable.

Brings back to the Stormy days of T**** when he had sex with a porn star days after Baron was born - you know the one he had to pay $130K in hush money - you're favorite president. LOL

also, WE DID NOT ELECT AVENATTI PRESIDENT!  LOL

Can you read the title of this thread?

And then look at the post before yours?

And then look at your post?

Are you getting a clue?

What is amazing is how the lies/day under T**** increased over the years:

Trump averaged about six claims a day in his first year as president, 16 claims day in his second year, 22 claims day in this third year—and 39 claims a day in his final year. Put another way, it took him 27 months to reach 10,000 claims and an additional 14 months to reach 20,000. He then exceeded the 30,000 mark less than five months later.

I would love to see a Biden lie/untruth count - surely someone on the right is keeping track.  Or are they not bothering and just waiting for T**** to resume office in August?

There is an anchor who pleasured himself on a zoom conference call a couple of months ago.  It was quickly filmed for posterity by his colleagues. He was off the TV screen a nano second and is back at his job at CNN. His “excuse”? He was stressed and, besides, he didn’t think anyone could see. Is he lying?

Is Joe Biden lying when he says his son, Hunter, is not laundering Russian money with his art?

If one chooses to believe something he figures is most likely untrue, is he lying?

Bill Clinton lied on television repeatedly when he was in office. A chorus lineup of women came forward with allegations against him, which he denied/lied about. He is now an elder statesman for the Democratic Party.

A President, whom I voted for, JFK, was a champion liar, leading a virtual double life on the public stage. He probably would not have gotten away with it in today’s 24/7 news cycle. I bought the whole Camelot story hook line and sinker!

Sometimes, it appears, only God knows who is lying.

When you get an accurate summary of that, you can pose your "Is he lying" question again.

Toobin - was suspended for the better part of a year. But he didn't lie about anything, so it;'s odd that you brought him, except we know that sex is icky.

Biden re Hunter - wtf are you even talking about? How is selling art in the open money laundering?

Clinton was impeached, if you remember. Lost his law license I believe. And he is rarely, rarely seen or heard from, unlike other "elder" lying Republicans, like freaking Newt Gingrich.

JFK - yes he had affairs, but an odd choice to pick on since he was assassinated before his behavior became widely known.

But after this post, it's clear that you still have no clue - no clue at all - about how much right wing figures lie to you. And not about personal, trivial stuff, but about stuff that actually matters.

And of course, none of what you posted comes close to Trump's Big Lie about the election, into which he's rolling Big Lie 2 about the insurrection.

I could have done with not hearing about Toobin for a little while longer, to be honest. It's not like he was contributing anything to the world.

I'm happy to leave it up to God to determine if Trump believes his lies or if he just doesn't care about the truth, but I think it's up to us to hold him and his enablers accountable for his repeated and continuing attempts to subvert and destroy our democracy and instigate violence.

Makes one wonder who else Ken Starr was "bicycle riding" with, especially while he was going after Clinton.

I keep forgetting how many hours behind me you are; I kept wondering why you hadn’t mentioned this.

 Wow

It was a lie from the start:

https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-aide-says-paid-actors-for-2016-campaign-announcement-2021-7

Here's the original denial:

https://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trumps-team-unequivocally-denies-paying-actors-to-cheer-at-his-announcement-2015-6

"You know Donald Trump. There is nobody who believes that when Donald Trump goes somewhere he does not generate the biggest, largest, and most rambunctious crowds on the planet," Lewandowski said. "It's just not true, unequivocally. The Donald Trump campaign and Donald Trump did not pay anybody to attend his announcement."
