Theoretically he had no choice. Trump withdrew his nomination to the post a second time which made him super double ineligible to do the job.

 He never was "in".  He would have been useless for 25th Amendment purposes, anyway, since he was never confirmed.

Indeed.

Apparently before he left he added six days to the normal security window leading up to inauguration. Ordinarily it starts on the 19th. He made it a full week.

So there's that.

A bit of enthusiasm mounting as many women are joining a FB group called Chucks and Pearls, a tribute to Vice President Elect Kamala Harris. Idea is to post pictures of our chucks and pearls to honor her. 

I think quite a few of us are getting giddy with excitement about our soon to be VP. 

Of course DJT and the speculation of his last acts as well as those of his rioters has taken center stage, but I'm not allowing it to dampen my enthusiasm.

I'm up for celebrating!

 There was. The picture I posted was the source of the controversy. I don't pretend to any expertise but I guess it's pretty badly composed.

 after 4 years of Trump you'd think people would just shut the f up over such "controversies." But I guess we're back to people freaking out over brown suits and photo lighting. 

Not only did I have to put the tv on mute when Trump was speaking at Andrews Air Force Base, I had to turn it off. 

 As I was typing this, my wife who had the tv on in another room came in and said "I had to turn it off."

eta - Is it safe to turn the tv on yet?   I checked and he's stil there.

 Actually in this case it was on Vogue, that that cover looked slapdash and it appeared that the photographer they chose didn't know how to light POC properly and that Harris' team deliberately asked them not to choose that pic as the cover photo, but they went ahead anyway, then had to back pedal and print 2 covers.

But otherwise, I fully agree with your sentiment.
