Strange encounter with supposed landscapers

This evening around 7:30pm my husband had a strange encounter with two young men in sunglasses  (although it was after dark) who came to the door and  seemed to be trying to push it open.  When my husband looked out the window in the door, one of the men held up a leaf blower.  My husband opened the door and explained that we have already hired someone to remove leaves (and we have few leaves in our yard).  It seemed suspicious for someone to come by the house with a leaf blower after dark, and we have few leaves left in the yard.  Has anyone had a similar incident?

yes, Max is right call the police even now to give them a description at least.   Sounds like a scam the are pulling and people need to know about it

I would assume they were

A.) hoping no one was home, making the house an easy target to burglarize

OR

B.) hoping someone alone and potentially feeble would answer the door

Terrible news, either way.

Not legitimate on any level.

No commercial landscaper can use a gas leaf blower at any time on a Sunday.  So, that's one big reason how their story is phony.  I hope you called the police, and thanks for sharing the heads-up.
