Springsteen. Giants Stadium. Full Albums Played. Discuss. archived

[Edited again to add] This thread was formerly known as "Springsteen Tickets Available, Saturday 10/3", but without any prompting on my part it seems to have turned into a discussion of the upcoming shows with full performances of "classic" albums.

Hence, the title change.

[Edited to add] They've gone to a good home. Thanks.

Available for face value (we'll "eat" the TicketBastard charges), in two locations,

Two tickets in Section 219, $101 each

Two tickets in Section 320, $68.00 each (yes, way out there, but still in the building :winkoh oh

Long story short: Had purchased these four for 10/3, to go to the show with relatives, even though we'd be sitting apart. Through the kindness of a fellow MOLer four seats together became available to us. So, these are our extras, which I'd rather see go to a deserving reader here than out through a ticket reseller.

Free local delivery.

If interested, whisper with contact information or email me at nohero.mol[at]gmail.com (replace the "[at]" with an "@" when typing the address).

FYI- ticketmaster just informed me via email that Bruce & the E Street Band will be playing the entire "Born in the USA" album at the shows on Oct 3 & 9. Born to Run on Sept 30 and Oct 8. And Darkness on the remaining night.

i heard about this a few days agi and am not happy about it one bit. one of the great things about springsteen was he would mix up what he played at the shows in the same area. this way people who went to more then one show didn't have to listen to the same play list at two of the concerts.

i have tickets for the 2nd, 3rd and 9th. if i make it to the concerts (i have an uri) i am not going to enjoy freezing my butt off listening to him play the entire 'born in the usa' album twice.

I really doubt that this would be true. Bruce isn't one to play only one album. Maybe the theme or focus will be more on those albums but I highly doubt he'd be that restrictive with such a huge body of work. I guess we'll know when some return from tonight's concert.

I just read this on a blog and it makes more sense. The album will be played but there will be other stuff in the beginning and at the end. However, makes me wish I had tix for the 8th instead of the 9th- I would much rather hear Born to Run in its entirety.

"from blog: The band plans to play the classic "Born To Run" in its entirety -- probably somewhere in the middle of the show -- tonight."

Now I wish we were going on the 3rd. I'd love to hear "Darkness" start to finish.

ML1 I have available tickets for the 3rd. Although I don't believe "darkness" is that night

October 3 is "Born in the USA"; see befmic's comment above.

I'm going tonight and October 8, both of which are "Born to Run" nights.

If you look on brucespringsteen.net, you can see the set lists for all the shows on this tour. He's been doing complete albums (seems like it's most often "Born to Run", but I haven't looked that closely) but that's only about one-third of the show.

We're going on "Born in the USA" nights, which would not be my first choice, if I had a choice. I'd rather hear rarities from BTR and Darkness. 'Cause I'm an old guy, and those were the albums I had as a "yute" (i.e., "youth"). That being said, the "Born in the USA" tour was the first show I took my soon-to-be spouse to in 1984 (we went to the concert a week before our wedding).

That being said, the shows have anywhere from 27 to 29+ songs in them, so the albums are just one segment.

On 10/3, it will be the first time that "Born in the USA" has been played in its entirety, so there's a first to celebrate, I guess.

And even if "Born in the USA" is the album played for the last show at the old Giants Stadium, there will probably be a few more special songs there, also.

So Nohero, are the 10/3 tickets still available?

To quote myself above, "They've gone to a good home. Thanks."

I have 2 seats avail for the 3rd
1 in section 317 and 1 in section 223

I have 4 seats in Section 113 for Friday 10/2, the Darkness night. He is playing the album in its entirety, just as he did for Born To Run in Chicago. Whisper, post, or email me if interested (demaitlin @ yahoo.com). Under face value ($99 per ticket) and I'll eat the TM charges.

my mistake, clearly the Darkness show is Fri. Not interested in Sat now, because I'm already going to a BitUSA show on the 9th.

I suppose it will be kind of nostalgic even if that's not my favorite album. The first time he played Giants Stadium was on that tour, so it's appropriate that the last time he plays there he focuses on the same set of songs he did then.

Born To Run was OUTSTANDING last night ... Hell, the whole show was terrific ... Liked the specially penned for the occassion "Wrecking Ball" ... Kind of a Drop Kick Murphy's feel ... We're going again on Saturday for Born in the USA and I'm really looking forward to that ... Not my favorite album by a long stretch, but that album was written to be played in that setting ... It's gonna be BIG.

The show was beyond outstanding. Somehow, Bruce and Co. just get better and better.

"Wrecking Ball" was awesome; loved the supertitled lyrics, too; nice touch.

BTR was fantastic, but I have to say, the show kicked into higher gear following the conclusion of "Jungleland" since it was full of neat surprises. Also? It was my just-about-13 year-old daughter's first Bruce concert, and she had an amazing time as well. That made the whole thing even better.

Can't wait to go back and do it all over again on Thursday.

Anybody take the shuttle from Secaucus? I'm debating how to go Friday and would prefer it didn't take me 2 hours to get home.

Jonsel - we drove. Got there early (in our seats by 7:00, which was ridiculous, but worth it) and got decent parking (in no small part because I asked some pinheads playing a game that occupied three parking spaces to move).

We got out of the parking lot in under 10 minutes. Seriously.

That said, car service when I go on Thursday.

Took the 5:24pm from NYC and met up with friend that arrived at 6:07pm from South Orange. (only caveat - don't believe trip planner on NJT website if you are using Mountain Station - look at printed schedules). Meadowlands train arrived a few minutes later for lazy 10 minute trip (slowest NJT train ever). It lets you off under 100 yards from Gate B (the GA gate).

Only hassle coming home was that you had to be on the correct side of the wire fence to get to the trains - this was not well marked, so we had to backtrack. Concert ended around 11:30pm, Train pulled out at 11:45pm and we made connection to 11:59pm in Secaucus. I saw no problems or lines in Secaucus.

I think the problems at U2 concert were people did not have return tickets - you must have a ticket with an electronic stripe to get through Secaucus both ways. (Monthly & weekly passes work - I didn't pay anything extra for the trip; parking is $25).

I am going on 10/8 and I am thrilled it will be BTR. Cannot wait to hear Meeting Across the River.

Change your shirt, 'cause tonight we've got style....

I believe we have a serious contender for the "Mother of the Year" award!

Thanks to Nohero and Soul for the headsup. Since I'm going on 10/3 BitUSA night, I swapped my 10/9 for 10/8 (BTR).

We're going on the two "BITUSA" nights, but I still wouldn't want to miss the actual last Giants Stadium show. We've been to other "last stand" shows, like the last night at MSG on the reunion tour, and I would expect him to toss out any old plans and surprise everybody.

Looking at the setlist from last night, there are a number of BITUSA songs which can easily be replaced by other classics (after all, every show will have "Born to Run") from BTR or Darkness.

Wrecking Ball
Seeds
Johnny 99
Atlantic City
Outlaw Pete
Hungry Heart
Working on a Dream
Thunder Road
Tenth Avenue Freeze-out
Night
Backstreets
Born to Run
She's the One
Meeting Across the River
Jungleland
Waitin' on a Sunny Day
The Promised Land
Into the Fire
Lonesome Day
The Rising
Badlands
No Surrender
* * *
Raise Your Hand
E Street Shuffle
Growin' Up
American Land
Dancing in the Dark
Hard Times
Rosalita

I love the live version of Atlantic City. I haven't heard it in concert since the Human Touch tour. Maybe this time.

My husband and son are going tomorrow night (10/2) and are looking for someone to carpool with (he's willing to drive).

Hearing that one last night was great ... I commented to my friend that it may be one of his most under-rated tunes ...

And it was GREAT to see Willie Nile on stage with the band ...

(thread drift) The "Human Touch/Lucky Town" tour was the only time that it was a little sad to hear the song "Born to Run". He had who-can-remember-her-name do the sax solo, and that just made everybody miss Clarence and the rest of the E Street Band. (/thread drift)

I still have one (maybe 2) General Admission tickets for tomorrow (Friday Oct 2) that are being sold for face value. Whisper, if interested.
