Shows that have lost their binge-worthiness

Greys Anatomy. Defies logic how long it has carried on. It was a great show, but it needs to wrap up.

Same with ER.  I don't know how either show lasted so long.

Back in the day streaming and cable tv shows hadn't taken off, you watched what was aired. We’re spoiled for shows now, there’s no way a new Greys or Big Bang starts in 2018 and lasts 10 years. There’s always something shinier the second an episode gets dull.

I'm not saying it's lost its appeal, but the first episode of Goliath's second season has me a bit wary

Goliath Spoiler alert

In the beginning of season 1 Billy's girlfriend is killed (Billy was the target) to show how brutal the opposing lawyer's team is.   A law firm offing people seems shark worthy, and how over the top insane the law firm was also echoed Fonzi on water skis, but the show is good enough that it was worth overlooking.

But now in season 2 the corrupt officers who are apparently in some real estate scheme that involves murder off Oscar before he is going to testify.  About 30 seconds before Oscar is killed it was conveniently mentioned that they were going to type up his statement, which made me suspicious (in Law & Order witness statements are allowed if the witness is no longer living, so I'm guessing that is what they're going for*), and when he was shot I wasn't shocked as much as I should have been.

*  I know nothing about actual law and if this is accurate or not, everything I know about court procedures I learned from Law & Order  oh oh

ETA:  So apparently it isn't a real estate scheme, but still...

Just caught up with the Westworld Season 2 finale.  Has to be one of the most spectacular jump-the-shark collapses in TV history.   While at times frustrating, the show, before the finale, consistently oozed intelligence and purpose.   The finale revealed, that much like Lost, the writers were faking it all along.

I started a thread about this here: https://maplewood.worldwebs.com/forums/discussion/westworld-season-finale-hmm-yes-spoilers

Unlike Lost - this series is based on a Michael Crichton book - not sure how things resolved in the book.  I think the confusion in the finale perhaps was on purpose - the very blurred lines of what's real and what's AI.  It did feel like a shark jumping move.

Sorry I overlooked your thread.  The show was confusing from Episode 1.  But it was also carefully paced and though out.  This felt like the original writers and directors turned the last episode over to hacks and said "you finish it."  It was all the worse because the episode about the Indian's story line, only two episodes ago, was the most beautiful, artful one of the whole series.  What a downer.
