Kids books cheap!

Looking for a productive rainy-weekend activity? Bookshelves bulging?

Please consider donating your gently used children's books (board books through young adult) for our annual Kids v Cancer book sale/bake sale fundraiser, which will take place in our front yard on 

Saturday, June 10, 9am-1pm.

You can leave them on our porch (38 Plymouth Avenue in Maplewood) any time, any weather, or I can pick up. All books remaining after our sale are offered first to the inimitable @kidlit, for her literacy efforts in Orange, and then to local library sales and the like.

Thanks for posting this. My youngest and I just went through a few boxes of "stuff" and found some really in good condition books.

Yay! Thanks for that. Now that my kids and their friends are all grown up reading-wise, the collecting becomes a little more challenging.

Feeling really daft about this, but can someone tell me how to add this event to the MOL events calendar? It was self-explanatory to me in previous years, but for the life of me I can't figure it out now. Thanks!

After that, we're hoping, especially in the spirit of it being Book Festival weekend here in South Orange/Maplewood, that you'll start your weekend off with a bag of new-to-you kids books and maybe a scone and a latte. This Saturday, 9am-1.

Great books, great lattes, great baked goods, great cause. Is there any reason not to come to our book sale / bake sale tomorrow (Saturday) morning? June 10, 9am-1, 38 Plymouth Avenue. Fundraiser for Kids v Cancer. Spectacular children's books at bargain prices.

(Just avoid Valley between Millburn Avenue and Tuscan Road, as they will be "milling" and paving.)

A huge thanks to everyone who came by and helped us raise a nice sum (gotta double-check our adding before putting it in print) for Kids v Cancer. Everyone, donors and buyers alike, was so generous! It was a great morning, and over 50 boxes worth of books found new homes. Happy reading, all!

Thanks for doing that, zucca!   I got an amazing pile of books for my classroom and a delicious cup of coffee too!   Glad to know it's going to a great cause too.
