Save the Date - National Night Out - Tuesday, August 4, 6:30PM Flood's Hill

I don't know where the month of June went but it's time to get ready for National Night Out which I hope to put together by this week. I need help picking the movie.

Here are the ones we've done thus far

2010 - Shrek

2011 - Toy Story 3

2012 - Muppet Movie

2013 - Despicable Me

2014 - Lego Movie

It needs to be family friendly and a run time of no more than 90-120 minutes (we can't start the movie until it's dark, around 8:30ish, and don't want to keep the kids up too late).

I don't watch a lot of movies so I have no idea what's popular. I'd like something that's good for both kids and adults.

How about something retro, like Back to the Future? Great for adults and kids, and probably none of the kids have seen it before.

I'm getting some "despicable me 2" emails since I guess another movie similar is coming out soon?

Rob - we did back to the future at the movies in the park last year. Some adult title this year too for August.

If you're posting from a phone it doesn't work great. Usually if you edit and try again it works though.

6:30 to 10:30 PM - FLOOD'S HILL

Public Safety FairKids Zone - Live Music - Giveaways - Outdoor Movie

At 6:30 PM, the event kicks off with live music featuring "Aisle Five" - a hot rock / pop cover band as well as a public safety fair where residents can learn more about various departments and organizations in town.

There will be a kids zone with bounce houses, coloring stations, activities and free merchandise giveaways including tee-shirts, frisbees, balloons and glow sticks.

Various food trucks and vendors will be on site so come hungry!

Then at 8:30pm, sit under the stars with some popcorn and cotton candy and enjoy "BIG HERO 6" - don't forget your blanket and lawn chairs!
