In Season 6 of "The Good Wife" in an episode titled, "Wanna Partner", it focused on Alicia's client being detained in a secret Chicago police precinct. Alicia's client was being held at an off the grid precinct and as his attorney, Alicia was barred from accessing him. Seems like this is true life.

Why do these facilities exist and what's their purpose? Why is it necessary to "hide" people and prevent them from accessing their attorneys? How is this legal? From the article: Sarah Gelsomino, Church's lawyer, said she searched for her client, whose name wasn't on any jail booking records, for 12 hours before she learned Homan Square even existed.
He was booked at a nearby police station nearly a full day after he initially entered.
