Revis a Jet again

There's nothing disgraceful about making the final 4 in any professional sport.

I'd say two straight AFC Championship games qualifies as "working".

When was the last time you saw a Final Four banner at a professional stadium?

I wouldn't say it's disgraceful, but it's rare for the team who lost to the team who got beat up by the NFC champs to consider it something worth bragging about.

Teams usually fly Division champ banners in MLB stadiums and that's not even necessarily Final Four. now it's Final Eight. Final Ten if you count the two wildcards.

World Champion Patriots win division this year yet again, Jets go nowhere

Pretty much...

The Bills and Dolphins will give the Patriots a real run for their money on the defensive end of the game. Depending on how old Cromartie and Revis play, the Jets also can create some defensive havoc.

The questions are: will the Bills, Dolphins or Jets have an offense worth anything; and will facing better defenses in his division shake up Brady enough to upset the Patriots' season? You have to go with Brady and Belichick on past results, but in a league where age and injuries speed up change it is imminently possible that the Patriots get dumped this year.

Brady goes down with a knee injury in week 1, Jimmy Garoppolo is a 10 game winner.

The Patriots losing Brady to an injury is almost as bad as the Pats losing Revis..

oh wait.

The Pats should win their division easily. The AFC East has been one of the weakest divisions for several years and the Pats, to their credit, have taken full advantage of it.

Bills, Fins and Jets will all have top 10 Ds. Spells bad news for pats.

easily? I highly doubt that. They lost their best Defensive player to an arch rival. Revis made their defense great. It's a whole new ballgame now. Still, yes, I would favor them to win the division but easy? No..

I hope you're right scott_clark, but I worry about the Pats' defense, too. Top 10 six years running, and were ranked higher two years ago without Revis than last year with him (albeit they won the whole kit and kaboodle with him). All four teams should be very competitive and the games more tooth-and-nail, but Pats may still be tough to beat. Again, I hope you're right.

pats also lost Shane vereen and soon to lose Ridley.

Unless Ridley lets this opportunity slip through his fingers...

With Suh in Miami and Rex running the Bills defense (Rex always gives Brady fits) and the Jets landing Cromartie and Revis and keeping Harris, I think you are wrong for 2015.

Don't forget the Patriots also lost Wilfork and Browner

The Pats seem to get rid of someone important every year and keep winning.
Last year they dropped Welker and didn't miss a beat.

Ridley's an FA. He's gone. So's Wilfork.

The last time Brady went down with an injury Matt Cassel went 10 and 5 as a starter and they barely missed the playoffs. And in case you don't remember Belichick replaced Drew Bledsoe, who at the time was one of the best QBs in the league, with a 6 round pick named Tom Brady.

Also, BB won a Super Bowl with Troy Brown starting at cornerback so I'm sure losing Revis won't derail the Pats season.

^^ This is 100% what will happy if Brady goes down next year

As long as BB is coaching they will always be in the playoff conversation. As long as the Pats don't have to play the Giants in the Super Bowl, they will probably win.

Losing Revis doesn't hurt?
Losing Brady doesn't hurt?

So is Revis going to QB when the offense is on the field? If not, no one has to too scared of the jets.

You're probably a Jets fan. Typical Jets fan: laughter in the offseason, tears during the regular season, and finally silence in the post season.

Um, revis will hurt, just like it hurt the jets when he left.

Not "just like" it hurt the Jets. The two organizations are going into this season with very different strategies. The Jets are paying top dollar (or more) to plug holes, the Patriots are paying 90 cents. We'll see how it works out. Should be interesting.

We'll see how well the Pats do with no secondary and no running game. The Jets know how that story ends up.

Pats always find someone.

It's what the Patriots have been doing for years. As many have pointed out here, Belichick tends to make it work. Notice that a few free agents have resigned with the Patriots at a bit less than they may have received elsewhere, or are talking openly about doing this, in part because they realize that they are better players within his system than elsewhere. Welker is but one example of that.

I would not downplay the Patriots, and they are currently the odds-on favorite to win the division yet again. But I also respect the changes that were made in Buffalo, New York, and Miami and I think one or more of these teams is going to give the Patriots a good run for their carefully spent money.
