Anecdotally, nearly impossible. It's hard to fill empty spots this late in the game so camps protect themselves by requiring payment up front. I know a couple of camp directors who would make an exception, but only with medical documentation. Camps typically have terms posted prominently on the website and application. Try Googling "[Camp Name] refund policy."
In my experience, there are cut-off dates for varying refund percentages. By February 1, you can get 80% back, by April 1 you can get 50% back, by June 1, it's nonrefundable. Something like that.
I would tend to doubt any camp would give a refund unless there was a proven hardship or some special reason. Just changing your mind does not seem like a valid reason this late in the game.
Also I think they hire the # of camp counselors based on expected attendance, if people could just cancel at any time they'd have more counselors than they need per child.
Most camp policies state upfront that they won't even refund money if they decide to disinvite your child...
We were, however, once able to have a camp hold our money for the following year when we developed a major scheduling conflict in May.

How hard is it to get a refund for summer camp if you just change your mind? None of the camps seem to have a "refund policy" listed. I'll be calling later, but just curious to know if anyone has had experience.
