Reassessment info- I'm so out of the loop!

Hello peeps- (I thought I'd start here before making a call to town hall...)

Just got an update to our property assessment.  Are we on a rolling assessment adjustment ever since the 2012 Reval?  Just curious.  Our assessment is up slightly from last year and of course, the number is way higher than the 2012 Reval number.  Yes, it's been that long since I've paid close attention.

AND, if doing any home improvements like a bathroom or kitchen, does anyone have a rule of thumb about how it affects the assessment and tax bill?

There was a town-wide revaluation in 2016.

thanks joan_crystal.  I'd be interested to see the details for the whole town, but I don't see anything on the town website.
