www.facebook.com/bridesacrossamerica is a great idea, but I don't think they take very old gowns.
It might depend on the dress and its style... it's a more limited market, but I can see some brides loving a vintage gown.
Salvation Army stores sell clothes; I'd bet they would like a nice wedding dress for a bride who's not well off.

After 51 years (in August) Mrs. C has decided it's time to get rid of her wedding gown. No more need to save it for nieces, granddaughters , etc. Are there any places to donate wedding gowns?
