Photos --- My first photo exhibit is at Millburn Public Library. Also, todays birding trip.

Friday was Vermont and Ausable Chasm.

The last one is a New Jersey Church, off of exit 33 but don't know the specific town.

Nice!
I visited Ausable Chasm as a kid in the summer, and went a few years ago during the winter. It's really amazing in winter time.

looks like you had a great day! Love the light and textures. I esp love the rock pics, and the old wooden buildings: beautiful capturing of the details.

I like seeing old barns.
VT. and upstate N.Y. have many but they are on two lane roads and dangerous to stop and photograph.

beautiful shots, Jack!

The light is best in fall.

Nice shots, nice composition!

This one is very .... fractal. It could be small or those weeds could be tree-sized and and the rocks a cliff in the Grand Canyon. Ten feet high or 100?

Friday and Saturday are scheduled for Bar Harbor.

Rare treat. Believe its a Black-throated Green.

The next time you are in VT/NH you should check out Franconia Notch State Park.

Looks like a hooded warbler.

Other birders called Black-throated Green and it looks like the one in the book.

OK, John, you've inspired me. I've started a photo journal of my own. I'll be publishing it soon. I'm learning.

Really enjoy your photos JJ.

Thanks for sharing them, and I look forward to more.

Wrong breast color for a black throated green warbler.

I spent the weekend in Bar Harbor, watching the Milky Way. The weekend was the Dark Sky festival where Cadillac Mountain (really is too small to be a mountain) is closed off. Astronomers give classes, set up about 20 scopes focused on different features of the sky. There is also a night time boat ride into the harbor which includes an introduction to sky features.

Almost all the photos were of Cadillac Mountain and a couple were taken on the boat ride. Some were of morning fog in the harbor.- and of course, my requisite sunset.

Actually, I have been to Franconia Notch. Attached is a drawing a friend did of me when I was rock climbing at the Notch. For some reason, the ranger told me never to come back here. I don't know what got into him.

Love, just love them!
Especially the twilight ones from 9/26 posts - #4 & 10 and the ripples one from tonight's post - just wonderful!

You're making me blush.

JJ, what spectacular photos. You've really captured the beauty of Maine from the wide panoramas to the quiet details. Really well done.

I've been to the poor People's pub When my boys were pre teenish they thought the signs on the the bathroom doors were hysterical
