Parking near PATH (Newark or Harrison) archived

I commute to downtown (Wall Street area) -- for years I've been taking the train to Hoboken and the ferry to Wall Street. It's not a bad commute at all, but the ferry has gotten ridiculously expensive so I'm considering switching to the PATH instead of the ferry. But, I figured if I'm already on the PATH, it might make sense to take it to/from Harrison or Newark, instead of switching to NJ Transit at Hoboken (esp. b/c I live really close to 280). Any advice from folks who do this? Is there anywhere near Newark Penn to park that's reasonably priced? I kind of prefer Newark b/c the PATH is less crowded there and the drive home is a smidge shorter, but only if it won't cost an arm and a leg to park there. What about garages near Harrison?

Thanks!
Don't know about Newark parking, but there is a monthly lot near the Harrison PATH station that you can see from the NJT train (M&E). I see someone there on the first of the month collecting the fees. I think there is a sign with parking rates but I cannot read it from the train. Good luck.

When I was commuting via PATH to WTC, I found the Hoboken to WTC trains much less crowded than those originating in/going to Newark. There were times when I would board the WTC bound PATH train at Newark and have trouble squeezing in one of the cars while I could always get a seat at Hoboken.

Rather than drive to the PATH train, I would take the 31, 25, or 70 bus to Newark Penn Station. Taking the train to Newark Broad Street and switching there for the light rail (included in the monthly train fare) which stops at Newark Penn Station is another possibility.

We almost never take a train into Manhattan; drive into Harrison and park either on the street a block away or in the lot across the street, then take the PATH in.

There's also a lot right next to the Harrison train station now. Slightly more expensive, I think. But they take credit/debit cards, which can be a big deal if you get pre-tax dollars for that.
