So no recommendations for oil tank gauges? No one has these attached to their heating oil tanks?
We have auto delivery so we don't pay much attention to the gauge on the tank.
When it comes to measurements, you get what you pay for. Simple (& cheap) devices are probably no more accurate than +/-10%.
To get something really accurate (+/-0.25% or better), you will have to spend $3K+ per tank, and more if yhou want a modem to call up and re-order.
Fuel Oil companies offer auto delivery, which is based on a degree day system. They fill your tank initially, and then monitor the avg temperature in your area. When you tank is low (by their calculations), they refill.

See many a few on Amazon but don't know which is the best quality. Need one for a 250 gallon oil tank (for another property). The current one is cheap and no longer reads properly. Can send the handyman to Home Depot or Lowe's but again, what is a reliable one and easy to install?
