Noire Dispensary

Noire grand opening was a complete flop. The tone deaf out of town owners had the audacity to close down Maplewood Ave and set up kid’s games. Young families pushing their strollers past Noire patrons openly smoking Marijuana in front of two Maplewood cops and three security guards. Give me a break! Is this what the township had envisioned?  Welcome to MapleWEED. Residents - wake up before the Village goes to Pot.

Just across the street from where drunk football fans smoke cigs outside the Gate? It should be a crime, I tells ya! A crime!

I completely agree.  Shutting down Maplewood Avenue needlessly is rarely a way to make residents like your business. Plus the music was horrible and I could hear it inside of another business with the doors shut.

@ridski - you exaggerate - there are rarely people smoking in front of the Gate.

I think we are in a period of time where the law hasn’t caught up to itself.

Public consumption of alcohol and public drunkenness are both prohibited by law in lots of areas.  The laws may need to be amended to include cannibas use and public intoxication with cannibas. Some people seem to be going with the approach that it’s now okay to smoke pot anywhere now that NJ has decriminalized pot.

Another thread was talking about people openly smoking weed in their cars. I’m pretty sure if I sat in a public parking lot drinking beer in my car the police would have something to say about it.

What's the name of the dispensary up on Springfield Ave?   Haven't been there since back around their grand opening,  They'd created quite a classy vibe there.  Hope it hasn't changed.  I've never been to Noire.  Is there a noticeable difference between the pricing scales?  (sAking for a friend...... blank stare )

The name of the one on Springfield is the Apothecarium. However, I highly recommend the other dispensary in Maplewood Village whose owner is the amazing Jill Cohen, local businesswoman. (Yes, I know her personally. She has two business right next to each other on Highland Ave. Cannaboss Lady, the CBD Boutique with amazing products and focusing on great advice and women owned products. Next door is Elevated by the Cannaboss lady, THC Dispensary. Finally had a chance to walk in there and talk about classy there. While I have only purchased Delta 8 from the CBD I highly suggest you check out Elevated. And whether it's for you or a friend it's no differnent from asking where to buy good wine from.

Just making things clear: There are TWO dispensaries in Maplewood Village: Noire which is the title of this post and Elevated.

You could speak with the owners and express your concerns:

Come to highland Avenue if you’re seeking to be elevated..,

It's funny (to me, and that's all that matters). There was a space of about two years, when Massachusetts was the only place selling legal weed. I talked with my friends about a weekend road trip.... sit around a campfire at night...

That didn't happen.

So N.J. legalizes weed. I haven't been to any of the shops and I am not inspired to go to any. Maybe the illegality was part of the fun.

Whan I was a 'ute, I did opium, peyote, mescaline, coke, hash, Panama Red, Acapulco gold and whatever else. I still have one unsmoked joint - gift from my daughter-in-law on one of her trips to Massachusetts. It is probably two years old.

Maybe I'll go looking for it this weekend.

I've been going to Apothecarium because I know it's state licensed, and the product is pure of additives like fentanyl.  There are now more than a few places open in Jersey City, where I live (one in the old Wilsons House of Carpet location, whose Paul Bunyan carrying a roll of carpeting statue you might recall from the Sopranos opening credits) but I drive to Apothecarium for this reason. Are these other places also state licensed? Am I being paranoid?

There were a few cases in Conn a few years ago but I haven’t seen much in the way of fentanyl contaminating marijuana.

I have been to the Apothecarium a couple of times. I didn't smoke cannabis very often for many years because I could never been guaranteed the potency and often it was way too strong to take even one hit. Now and then, I smoke a little. More often than not, I don't. I often forget I have it.

I think they are all state licensed.  There are a restricted number of licenses available. Similar to liquor licenses.

People tend to stay with their trusted sources, it’s not like clipping supermarket coupons to get 50cents off your next order at ShopRite.
Maybe they should do like Costco and BJ’s… for the bulk consumer.

The few different ones I've been to have a loyalty program- $ spent translate to "points" for $ off a future order.

Apothecarium does this and runs specials all the time.

Well I got the shock of my life when I saw one of the MOL’s staunchest conservatives shopping at the Apothecarium last week… we chatted for a bit and he promised to come back to MOL and “stir the pot”…
