NJAW sewer and water line protection policy, BUYER BEWARE

UPDATE: Check for the expenses I already incurred, is in the pipeline.

I was referred to the "settlement team" supervisor at Amer. Water about the problem with the malfunctioning sewer pipe. I mentioned the name of a class action law firm and told her that there are numerous stories of people in our area that are unhappy with their sewer protection service and would likely be happy to sign on with a class action suit.

They are sending another plumbing company to further evaluate the situation.

My advice: Noli nothis permittere te terrere (Don't let the bastids grind you down).

Good going, JerseyJack! I should mention that I signed up last year and saved several thousand dollars of plumbing expenses from them, between two leaky pipes on separate occasions, and several clogged drains. It is clear that what happened to Spontaneous is outrageous, but nevertheless, I will continue to use them, because otherwise I believe that I would have to pay much higher private plumbing rates overall. If I run into problems, however, I would love to retain you as my advocate!

Actually, nothing happened to me, I don't have them. I was posting about Jerseyjack's experience but didn't know if he wanted it known it was him. Then he came and posted himself so I guess he doesn't care if I mention it now.

Its cool.

FWIW, I had their water line protection (less than $100 bucks a year at the time) and they covered the full cost of line replacement. Didn't like that they chose the contractor, but overall did a decent job.
