Need a decent remnant rug but don't want to pay a fortune, need recommendations

We're fixing up our 3rd floor guest bedroom and as it goes with 3rd floor flooring, the wood flooring is not the best quality as used throughout the rest of the house. I'd like to put a 10'x10' rug in that space to cover most of the floor but still leave a nice wood border. 10'x10' is an odd size and I'm having a hard time finding anything. I think I'm going the route of having a decent rug cut to size and have the edges bound. Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent rug store that could do this for me without costing an arm and leg?

Not sure these days, but Home Depot used to be a great value for cheapo rugs. Even my father, who once owned a rug store, thought they were great. The Home store next to Home Depot is another good place to look.

Most of the rugs in my house came from warehouse sales, which is another place to look. I used to go to ABC Carpet, which is very expensive, but you can look and bargain with the stuff in the basement. Einstein Moomjy used to be good, but I think they have gone out of business and never come back.

try overstock also try a carpet remenant at carpet mill they will cut and bound it for you

Home Goods has some fabulous rugs at excellent prices....

You can try a place like Cove Carpet in Summit -- sometimes when pieces are left over from large jobs, they bind the remnants and sell them for prices that are quite reasonable. They also have frequent sales, and there could be one when all of the remnants are another 30 to 40 percent off.

Ikea also has some good rug prices

Carpet Mill on Rt. 10 has a great selection of remnants. We've bought several from them. If you search MOL you'll see their name come up quite a bit.

G. Fried on Route 22 in Union. Lovely people, big warehouse in backwith a ton of remnants, overstock, etc., and great prices.

So ended up at G. Fried on Route 22 and as ctrzaska said the people there were lovely. I've been to some carpet places that just felt as slimy as some car sales lots. Got a lovely Caress Cashmere being cut and bound for Saturday. Not sure if the price was the best out there but, really happy with the experience. Thanks everyone!

I bought a remnant at G. Fried this weekend. Thanks for the recommendation.
