Mr. Morrell witch hunt

Give me a freakin' break, who the hell cares what this teacher does on his private, off time, at home, on his computer.  This is what you should care about; if the Board of Ed lets this happen, this talented AP physics teacher from Columbia High School will no longer teach.  In other words, you, the parents of ultra-smart middle-schoolers and ivy-headed ninth and tenth graders, should be concerned.  My son had him for AP physics and guess what, this teacher somehow taught him well enough to get all fives on his AP exam and get into Cornell and other top tier computer science schools.

But you parents who have truly bright AP kids should be concerned.  Let's see how easy it is to replace this caliber of physics teacher.

The internet has a long and storied history of bad takes. But this, this deserves some type of award. You, @sender, have managed to make a point so beyond bad that there needs to be a corner of the internet named after you. One where all the bad takes get placed. A hall-of-fame of bad takes if you will. He is a child predator who for all we know thought of your children when doing whatever he was doing with his stash of CHILD PORNOGRAPHY.

Okay, I feel the need to point out (again) he hasn't been convicted.

Sender, you'd probably have more success arguing that point and not that the crime he's been charged with is not a big deal.

But thats the thing though, @sender doesn't see it as a crime worthy of punishment. They said so. What he does in the privacy of his own home is his business.

THIS!! Sender's stance is so bizarre, gross, demented, ... every other pejorative adjective one can think of.

From a few days ago.  This is why possession is a crime:

Sebastien Attar, 35, of Brick, New Jersey, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Peter G. Sheridan in Trenton federal court to an information charging him with two counts of sexual exploitation of children. Separately, Attar also pleaded guilty before Judge Sheridan to a superseding indictment charging him with one count of advertising child pornography.

If you need to, read the whole thing; it includes a brief description of the investigatory process:

Beginning in mid-2017, federal law enforcement began investigating individuals participating in a private chat messaging group dedicated to the discussion and dissemination of images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children. The private chat group was named “Taboo Train 2.0,” and law enforcement identified Attar as a member of that group, operating with the account identifier “Seb Seb.” The investigation revealed that on multiple occasions and in response to requests from other users, Attar, operating as “Seb Seb,” shared with the “Taboo Train 2.0” chat group images depicting sexual acts between adults and very young children.

Sender’s stance is based on the idea that child pornography is a victimless crime — or at least that the victimization pales in comparison with the good that an excellent teacher brings to other children, and in comparison with the evils of the surveillance state that uncovers it. Even if sender doesn’t sound too open to persuasion, it’s a stance that calls for evidence, and counterarguments that understand what they’re up against, to oppose it.

Personally I think sender IS Mr. Morrill

Actually, according to every article I've read it's spelled M-o-r-r-i-l-l.

Not Morrell as indicated by Sender.
