I received my upcoming 7th grader's math placement today. It appears they needed to have scored 84/130 to be placed in 8th grade advanced honors algebra.
Do you know if we will get a letter if they don't get into accelerated math? I have an incoming 7th grader who will be curious either way. We didn't get a letter today.
I think everyone will get a letter. Otherwise, everyone will email Dr. Beattys.
So our fifth grader was placed in honors, didn't make it into accelerated. She was really down on herself as she loves math and has been bored with grade level work and the "challenging" extra assignments for years. Couldn't get a call back from the district. She then took the SCAT as part of CTY and scored 91% for 8th grade. Now she feels better, but the whole thing makes me wonder… And yes, I will start saving for the summer program
