Mara's closed??

I wonder about an athletic store, like a Running Company or Sneaker Factory. Sneaker Factory in Millburn is not far but it's just annoying enough to get to that it bugs me. Seems we have a lot of athletes here so perhaps it would do well... I'm not totally sure of the scope of the Kicks store in SO but I think it's just soccer-focused?

I think that place (CMB Kicks) is more for the expensive collectible basketball-style shoes. More fashion than function?

Parking is going to kill any large retail store, our best hope for Mara's and for the Blockbuster space is something that the town residents moving in closer to the village can use.  Food, Daycare, Hardware and maybe another sports bar.

Perhaps... though the NJ Transit lot there is pretty large and right across the street from the Mara's space. I wonder if once Third & Valley is open, more of the commuters can be directed there for daily parking?

There were some dedicated parking spots for Mara's.

Did the sneaker store on SO Ave go out of business?

there were actually quite a few parking spaces behind mara's (not just the couple directly behind the back doors)

Make it an indoor parking area - you could probably fit 5-7 cars in there.  Charge $500 per car per month. Probably make a killing.

Do the same with the blockbuster space.

7 cars.  3500/ month.  Wouldn't even begin to cover the rent.

Kid's play space for former Pro Pets. Interesting.

Disappointing that there are no planned fencing academies.

What is the Fourth and Valley project mentioned previously?

Can someone invite these folks to come open up in Mara's space?

Was hoping Palmers Sweetery would do real pastries and desserts, but for some reason they've decided to replicate Able Baker's offerings.

I have actually written this bakery about opening a branch in SOMa. Sweet muffins, savory tarts and quiches, and BREADS!  http://www.metropolitanbakery.com/

The Able Baker in South Orange?
