Looking for a singer or singers

I am a baritone looking for a singing partner or partners, ideally if only one person it would be a woman - open ended as far as the goal of this, but I would like to sing some harmony with someone.   If we sound good together we could look for gigs at bars, homes, coffee shops or sing in churches or whatever makes sense.   I have a piano and electric piano.  I would also be happy to go to any practice location that works for you.  I can accompany a bunch of stuff on keyboards.   A cappella is fine too.   If you are a good keyboarder, guitarist or other instrumentalist even better.  I am singing a couple solos in church in town this Sunday.  I have done cabaret and have a concert with the Gotham Rock Choir in NYC on Tuesday, but the commute is tough. Really would prefer something/someone more local.   I have examples of solos and duets I have done on request.   If interested PM me and can see what is what.

Have you considered joining a church choir in MOS?

I am sure Morrow would welcome you (contact Holland Jakaitis, though he is on vacation this week).

I think the last time you posted this many told you it was creepy and/or unlikely you'd find a woman to sing with this way. I think the suggestions to join singing groups or organizations through a church or otherwise is still the most viable and appropriate route.

Maplewood Mens Glee Club is looking for new members.

We ARE @joan_crystal thanks!  https://www.facebook.com/events/1188228281218013/?acontext=%7B%22feed_story_type%22%3A117%2C%22action_history%22%3A%22null%22%7D

Thanks Joan and bak - I may check out the Glee Club, but really I am looking for something smaller - 2, 3 or 4 people.  Ideally local.   I have done church choirs for years and its just not what I am looking for right now.

maybe if you join a group like glee club, you will meet someone who would like to branch off and do something with you

Here is the thing, rather than join a choir or men's glee club primarily to find another singer to sing with I thought I would reach out here.   Maybe it won't work.   In a town with as many musical people as ours it doesn't seem like such a far fetched idea.  But like many things in life you never know

but you asked months & months ago and it doesn't seem to be working for you, so people are suggesting an avenue that may actually be successful for you

It hasn't worked yet, but you never know - and while I appreciate other folk's ideas I  I have done choirs for many years and that is not what I am looking for at all.

It is easier to contemplate singing with someone you know through other activities than it is to consider singing with someone you have never met. Just my two cents.

I have to say if I still lived in the area I might be tempted to explore the idea, since I love to sing and sing with two chorales in northern CT, but I'm not located well for this any more.

If you're no good solo, no woman will sing with you. Rather than MOL I think eharmony, plentyoffish, christianmingle or okcupid might be what you're actually looking for. Hey hey what can I say.

Church, Glee Club are great but I sense you're trying to make some $$$ doing this and don't want your special talent to turn into a charity case. Go to open mics at bars and show off, meet the other acts, and open yourself up to it. Play your keyboard for one of their bands, get in a fight with them and quit then join another who will pay you. Do this a dozen or so times until you figure out what it was you were really looking for in the first place.

Maybe hang out at some Karaoke places?

I am actually very good solo, but just would prefer doing harmonies.      I am not concerned about making money.    The karaoke and open mic routes may well be the way to go if something does hit soon.
