Laura Always Loved A Party, so let's give one every year to remember her...

I spoke to Able Baker about a platter of cookies to send to Art & Libby's. Waiting for a call back to see if they can deliver - not normally what they do.

I hate to ask if anyone can pick it up because it's an imposition. But, if they can't, is there anyone who would be in the village & heading over to Elmwood Ave that can do it?

I can do it. Please email me at michaelbaldwin67@gmail (dot) com if the cookies need a lift.

Second that - happy to help @greentree

Same here. I can pick up from Able if need be.

LOL - if you order more cookies than 3 cars can hold, I'll be in the neighborhood at Morrow and can easily swing by.

Sounds like you have enough volunteers, but I'm also able to do it.

@joy and @doulamomma if either of you are available on Friday morning after the repast I can possibly use your help in bringing any leftovers to a food pantry I will have identified by today. Can you contact me and give me your phone numbers in case that's a possibility for either of you. Contact via FB or PM here is fine. Thanks! adding @sac to this request since I bet @mbaldwin can handle the cookies all by himself. ;-)

Just as an update for everyone for the next few days on all things Laura ...

As we see from the posts on various threads, Laura has a large and diverse group of friends, (both on and off line), her customers, and her family members with Tommy, and also on Dan's side. Unfortunately; I don't know how all these relationships fit together. So to make things as easy and comfortable as possible for everyone, including myself... ;-) , starting tomorrow I'd like everyone to know I'll have an open door visiting policy at the B&B, during the day, as well as in the evening hours. I'll explain how it works...

Laura's sister Deidre will be staying at the B&B with her four children and another couple beginning tomorrow. Both Tommy and Danny will also have family staying. My open door policy simply means you don't need to call me, just call either of them direct to make plans to visit them at the B&B on Tuesday and Wednesday, either before, or after visiting hours at Prestons is OK.

Also, Libby and I really want to thank everyone. You all have been amazing offering your help and suggestions, but until we see a list from Prestons' of who's coming, and when, I don't know what to tell anyone about how much, or what to bring. My suggestion is just bring anything you want, food, dessert, or beverage; and I believe there's a good plan in place for any left overs.

Laura's Repast is for everyone, by everyone, so like she always did when she came here, come and do your own thing. ;-) For those of you who said you only knew her as "JustmeLaura" from MOL, or from Facebook, I'm sure by Thursday night you will think you knew her your whole life...

How do you sign up with Preston's? Is there a link that someone can post?

I don't think you can sign up through Preston's. The link to Preston's doesn't have anything. Perhaps Preston's is going to put a sign up sheet at the funeral but that won't do any good for Art. @ajc

here is the link posted and there's nothing there except the times of the wake and funeral.

...good question. I plan to ask Preston's to have something people can write their name on and time they plan to attend the Repast on Thursday afternoon and or evening?

Thanks, guys. Waiting for Michael to confirm time, but I think he's got the cookies covered. It' my small way of being there with you.

A genuine mensch.

Wendy, I think rather than trouble Prestons, I'll just bring a note pad to put along sign the guest register that people can put their name on... BTW, here's another little orange decoration Libby made up... LOL

That could work for people visiting at the funeral home on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, but not for people who just come to the service on Thursday.

...another good point.

Anyone not able to attend the wake, and are just coming to the Repast on Thursday afternoon, and or evening, please email me at: artchristensen616@gmail.com Thank you...

Art - I ordered ribbon for your house - should have it tomorrow. What is the best way to get it to you?

Art, I'll bring the Greenetree's cookies over after Laura's service on Thursday.

@metaphysician and I will be bringing Lamingtons suggested by @joanne and made by @spontaneous...

What about Alabama slammers? Isn't @metaphysician famous/infamous for that at Laura parties?

Another friend and I will be bringing s few bottles of champagne and plastic champagne flutes so we can toast Laura

"Infamous" wouldn't begin to describe that bastard's evil, sneaky concoction.

Well I'm going to stick with the Glenfiddich that has been at Art's since Sunday (unless Art and Libby got drunk on it over the last few days) but I will take an honorary sip of that concoction in Laura's honor since she was both a slammer gal and a scotch gal - my kind of gal!

Here you go!

Oh that's so wonderful. Laura and her overalls and now an orange one. snake (If I didn't clap I'd cry; clapping wins out.)

Thanks phenixrising, and Wendy the Glenfiddich is still unopened and waiting on you to do the honors...

Thanks Art but please, please feel free to start the bottle before I get there since I won't be there until at least 4:30/5:00. Just save shot or two for me and whoever else will join me. oh oh

doula great idea with the champagne. I'll bring a bottle too.
