karls appliance archived

Has anyone ever purchased anything from Karl's appliance in Orange? Was their installation, delivery etc good? Thanks for the help.

I purchased from their store in Madison. Honestly I wasn't impressed. I don't like the applaince (Bosch dishwasher) that was sold to me, the installation was awful, they left my house a mess, and parts on the floor. The manager apologized and refunded me the installation.

Yes -- bought all my kitchen appliances there. They were quite willing to match the best price I found. And include free delivery (+ keep in mind the sales tax there is only 3%). I did not have the appliances installed, delivery was on time, courteous, and they took all the packaging along as well as the old appliances.

Note -- they can get anything for you -- and quickly. Also check out their dent/scractch room in the back -- many/most have no dents or damage at all.

/p

We've had several good experiences with them (purchasing). We go to Johhny in the Orange store. Yhey didn't install our kitchen stuff (contractor did that) but I wasn't thrilled with their delivery of the new washer. They scratched it. Rather than deal with another delivery, etc., we took a $50 refund of the cost.

Used the guys in Orange for several things, not many of which we could find under one roof anywhere else. Delivery was fine, but our contractors did all the installs. Prices were great, and they did match Richmond Discount on SI, which others found every excuse not to do.

We shopped in Madison, purchased in Orange...delivery was fine, but they were just putting them in a garage - contractor installed all appliances, so I don't know how they are w/ that. They worked on price since we were buying a lot & it was their suggestion to buy in Orange to get the lesser tax.
I just called today to check something about warrantees & they were helpful.

Karl's does a good job. His installer's are independent contractors. I believe they still belong to the Nationwide buying group so their prices are usually in line with the national retailers. The owner's name is Danny Schwartz. If you have issue, he'll pick up the phone and talk to you. He's an old friend of mine from back in the day.

Oh - I forgot one important point (especially if you are buying a lot of stuff). They have interest-free financing for 12 months. Ask about it. We used to feel tied to Sears when we needed big ticket items because of this.

When one of our pieces came in wrong, Johhny checked the order, found it first and called to let us know that he had to reorder it. We'll continue to buy from Karl's and especially Johnny.

When I was pricing all kitchen appliances this summer I looked at Karl's but found better prices at Paul's in Newark. Paul's also has free delivery and installation and 3% sales tax. Very easy to deal with.

Another place to check is Appliace A Rama in Plainfield.

-Johnny was the person I spoke with and he was very personable and helpful...prices were great-unfortunately only no interest for 6 months is available right now but the difference in price and a no interest credit card may fix that! I will have to use them for the install as I am the contractor and hubby and I are the workers on the rest of the job so if anyone else had them install I'd love to hear about the experience-thanks
