Josh Dugger and Ashley Madison : Purfect together.

I'm guessing he was not totally honest with her. Just a hunch.

I actually don't feel so bad for his wife. She knew the type of man he was when she married him. He told her about the incest and pedophilia.

Yet another hypocrite exposed..

No, he said he confessed about his sisters and she (and Jesus) forgave him. Now about Ashley Madison, I dunno.

"Yes, Josh Duggar was a customer of adultery site Ashley Madison, but I’m sure he only cheated with other good Christians, not atheist whores." @TeaPartyCat

I have been the biggest hypocrite ever.
I actually respect him for saying that. I'm not saying that is a snarky or sarcastic manner either.
Yep. As opposed to "the devil made me do it" or some nonsense. Or just leaving that word out all together and asking for forgiveness, as he did with the child molestation charges. The fact that he flat-out said what we were all thinking is important.
Actually in the first press release he did say something about satan making him do it but that was quickly taken down by the press machine and replaced with the most recent statement

In that case I take back my statement about respecting him for his statement. It sounds like the PR team is trying to figure out what he can say that will make him look the least amount of awful in the public's eyes so they can get another show.

FWIW I don't think the Ashley Madison thing is all that bad except in that it makes him a huge hypocrite. The sexual assault charges, and how his family tried to cover it up, are what should really make these hate mongers disappear forever from the public eye.

Why on earth would you believe him?

Josh Duggar Scandal Now Involves an Unwitting Hollywood DJ

Does Josh think he looks like that guy? Because, uhhh, he doesn't.

This actually made me feel a little better for Anna- at least she has someone in her corner.

Does anyone else have the feeling that this is only the beginning of the Duggar empire downfall? There's got to be more dirt in there just waiting to get out.

That suddenly brought to mind, Gilbert Gottfried telling "The Aristocrats."

If you don't know what it is and you intend to google it, IT IS NOT WORK ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY.

Although if she persists in staying with Josh and contorting her views to believe she is somehow to blame for his douchebaggery, she will be at odds with her own family, I suspect. She's in one heck of a pickle.

Unfortunately I think that's exactly what she'll do. She'll cling to the verse about a wife leaving her family and becoming part of her husband's, and will accept the rift if it comes to that.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr... Woman as doormat is not my favorite theme.

maybe you should go read ur bible instead of beating people over the head with it
I love this line

Her brother is siding with her against Josh

Well, her brother is against Josh. Sadly, however, the wife appears to be so intent on standing by her man that she is out of step with the brother, as far as I can see. So far, that's how her quotes and statements seem to read. Her brother wants her to leave Josh. She wants to stay and support him, while taking some of the blame.

And her brother is sadly out of step with the rest of the family at large, given their respective upbringings. By sadly, I mean that he will most likely be the lone voice here. And good for him!

Saw this earlier, and I agree with this woman.

I hate it that Anna Duggar is "uneducated" and "untrained" for any kind of career or work that would support her kids if she chose to leave. Her parents and husband deliberately made her unfit for any life that was not entirely dependent upon a man's support.

But part of me is wondering whether people would watch a reality TV show about a woman who was raised and married into this horrible mindf*ck but gathered her courage and got the hell out for her sake and the sake of her children.

I might even watch it myself.

She should watch the Unbreakable Kimmie Schmidt. It could be her life story.

I think someone should start a Gofundme campaign for her.

But the problem is she's not actually trapped- at least not against her will. True, she has no good options, but she's not likely even considering them or looking for a way out. She's not looking to be rescued from this. That to me is what's actually really sad about it.

I agree, she has been indoctrinated her entire life that a woman's place is to be subservient to her husband, tend to his needs and bear many children. It's what God wants - and who is she to argue with God? They are not permitted to hear any other way of existence.

How much cash does Josh have? Could she get a bundle of the TV show earnings from a divorce? I don't know how that stuff works. She has more resources than many women married to douchebags. She can sell her story, ask the public for help, etc. Even rotten Kate from John and 8 fame has learned how to live on the notoriety. Not saying it's one's first choice, but regular folk have to figure it out too.

I doubt Josh has a bundle of money just sitting around... wouldn't the parents have been the ones making money from the show, not the children? But then again, I have no idea what kind of contract they had with the TV folks. And i don't know off the top of my head what Josh might do for a living.

And no, Anna's not trapped against her will, but it is tragic that any woman in this era can be reduced by her parents, her church and her husband to the point where she is almost incapable of supporting herself and her children. Her brother would support her to get away from Josh, but I don't like that much better... it's still the woman depending on the man, isn't it? She is still part of the system that deliberately incapacitated her.

I guess I have a really difficult time wrapping my head around the mentality that's been pushed into her all her life. I feel so strongly that women should not ever be in that position. Women should have options and never let those options be taken from them, even under the guise of religion.

But I know not everyone feels that way.

He had, until the child molestation scandal, a job as the head of the Family Research Council where his job was, among other things, to campaign against the immorality of homosexuality and to protect the sanctity of traditional marriage.

He and Anna both appeared on the show frequently though, as adults, so I would imagine they must get paid something for that.

And again, to be clear, she has learned from an early age that her role and her gift/calling is to be a wife and mother. They claim to find their life's fulfillment and joy this way. They are not looking for "options." Even if their husbands are cheating scumbags.

It will actually be interesting to see what happens with the older Duggar girls. One of them, Jill, was going through midwifery training and had delivered many babies before her wedding. She always seemed to be a more "normal" one but who knows if she'll keep that up now that she's had her own child.

There's also another sister, Jana, who is older (25) and not married. Wonder what she'll do.
