I have never thrown anything at a girlfriend or spouse, be it an object or a fist. 

Legally, if you hit someone in the face with a phone hard enough to leave a mark it's no different than punching them in the face- telling the cops that you didn't intend to do it would be what they call a confession. 

In NJ recklessly causing bodily injury is covered under simple assault to do away with the "but I was just trying to scare them/get their attention/ I was so angry but I didn't mean to hit them" gambit.

I don't know about the phone throwing, physical abuse, etc. but he looks hygienically challenged to me -and that should have been enough to make her run.

I have the same issue with Brad Pitt--the hygienically challenged part. Why do these guys want to look so incredibly seedy in real life when they have it in them to look great with very little effort?

My boss threw a box of staples at me once.  It missed me and hit the wall.  The pisser then made me clean up all the staples since the box burst open on impact.  I'm not saying it's right, but it certainly isn't the same as a punch to the face.

I was punched in the face by one of my co-workers once.  I pressed charges.

Again, I want a 'like' button.

It is different.   The box of staples missed you.   And you work for an abusive boss.  Throwing items at workers is disgusting.  

and apologies for 2 threads.   I somehow blocked Virtual Cafe on my phone.  So somehow when didn't see the first thread anywhere, I assumed I did something wrong and mistakenly reposted. 

Looks like Johnny 'may be' innocent according to his Bodyguards via TMZ. As soon as they heard her screaming, "don't hit me, don't hit me"' they rushed into room in seconds. They found Amber in one room and Johnny in another. They said, she had NO bruising and no signs of attack.

^This stuff does happen- a friend who's wife constantly said that he hit her videoed her on the talking on the phone while yelling "Stop! You're hurting me! Stop hitting me!"....He was on the stairs while she carried on for the person on the other end of the phone...

Seriously? Johnny Depp is still one of the biggest sex symbols on the planet. Granted, he's got something grungy happening past few years but I don't think that's stop most women. He could get just about any woman he wanted. I don't think this is one of those ugly old men with money and gorgeous starlet stories. LOL

As for Brad Pitt, he's had long hair a few times but I can't remember ever seeing him look much less than delicious unless he grunges up for a movie. He's a true movie star. He and George Clooney usually look impeccable.

There are 2 alternatives.  He was violent with her and has a good PR person,or she faked her injury and forcibly injured her eye and lip.  

...or someone else hit her. No matter what the truth of the matter is, the whole situation is rather disgusting. It's a pity that when celebrities "uncouple," it gets incredibly ugly so much of the time. Money and fame do strange things to people's minds.

I'm going to reserve judgment on all this until the facts come out.

The gossip mongers will do very well by those who read up on all the latest evidence. It's the people who make their minds up early and don't bother reading further, and the ones who don't care, that hurt the gossip monger bottom line.
