Jersey City restaurant recommendation?

Something casual, not too pricey or touristy, great beer selection. Pub food is fine. Ethnic, even better. Thanks very much!

Greene Hook! David Drake's new restaurant just opened in JC.

Hmmm, Hank. Found their FB page. Looks good but it only opened, what, 2 days ago? Going to JC for dinner on Sept. 25th. May be too crowded on a Fri. night with everyone checking it out!

Carrino Provisions or Talde -- Both are Dale Talde projects. Or Razza.

In 3 separate trips, we've not been disappointed by the Hamilton Inn.

On the very casual side, we liked Left Bank Burger Bar. There was some craft beer there, not sure if it qualifies as a 'great selection' but better than I usually find at less casual places!

I'm a vegetarian, so I just had a veggie burger, but my wife enjoyed her 'real' burger. We plan to go back sometime when we're in the area.

I liked the Iron Monkey. Though I've never been outside the hours of Noon-1 PM.

This may be too casual, but it's certainly not touristy.

We've enjoyed several of the Indian restaurants on Newark Avenue (between JFK and Tonnelle); it's a great street -- like the East Village Indian row used to be. For sushi, Komegashi on Montgomery.

Thanks, everyone. Keep 'em coming...

Grand Sichuan - Grove Street. Very simple but very authentic. We are usually the only non-Asians there.

The Light Horse Tavern on the corner of Washington and Morris Streets in the Paulus Hook section. Cool, casual vibe and energy. Excellent beer selection. I've yet to be disappointed.

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner at The Light Horse Tavern (back in 2006). Great place.

The Light Horse is the other restaurant in JC where David Drake is now running the kitchen, along with the just opened Greene Hook.

Cucharamama, 233 Clinton Street

Cucharamama is in Hoboken. But thanks.

Talde is completely fabulous.

Talde looks amazing - just looked at the menu. Thank you!

I'll also say Talde, just come with money because it was high but worth it. but also consider -

Left Bank for Burgers and drinks

Torico's for Dessert (right down the street from Talde)

Sapthagiri Taste Of India or Blue Lotus - Indian food
