It is time...

Moved 1/2 hour away, but still partly "here" more than anywhere else. Never migrated to Facebook though.  Haven't posted anything anywhere on Facebook for about 10 years.

We pass through here occasionally, although we left town May 2004.

We went to a state with a real governor,  Ron DeSantis.  Lord help us.

Still here.  Still using my original username.  Been here at least 20 years because I remember posting on 9/11/01

I do miss the rest of the weather crew, glad WxNut stuck around

Lurked for awhile and signed up in 2005. Lately because I have been reading chiefly on my phone I post less frequently.

Wow! Just realized I’ve been here 20 years! Next month:0

Cody (Linda) still here. I am probably on FB more than MOL, but for a discussion that I want to be able to return to and follow and be able to find a few days later, it is MOL all the way. FB is good for immediate things (like why are all those sirens sounding, or is there a traffic issue on Valley Street right now, things like that) - but short of saving posts to be able to find them, FB doesn't lend itself to the sort of discussions we can have on MOL.

I've been in Maplewood since 1980 and on MOL since the late 90s (?), but had to be careful when I worked for the local school district not to post anything that would be considered confidential. Retired now, and have no children or grandchildren in the local schools, so that's not a concern any longer.

I’m here, but like mulemom, I mostly lurk.

Still here  question

14 years, 10 months and counting, though not as often as in the past. Like so many others, I used to LIVE on MOL.

I have NOT defected to the evil, evil FB, or any other platform of idiocy.

Moved to Maplewood in 1982,

Joined MOL IN 2005

I drop in every few months. It takes me a few days to read a few pages of interesting topics, then I fade back into Facebook and Reddit. I cut back Instagram to only family members, potus, but then I found "catsandbooks" and the shuffle dance reels.  Mesmerizing.

I'm pretty sure I was a member prior to the official 2010 listed on my profile.

Here since the late ‘90s. I try to come on daily to read and will respond to posts when I have something to say, like today.

cheese  question I read MOL a lot more than I post these days, partly because I’m pressed for time and partly because MOL itself is a bit different. (And that’s OK - all communities evolve as members come and go, and relationships wax and wane) MOL still keeps me sane when I’m not sure about ‘real’ reality - thank you, every one of you  big surprise  rolleyes

I kept jumping over this thread, thinking it was about something else, now I’m glad I stopped in. My D, the other half who used to occasionally post under SheMadeMeDoIt, doesn’t have time to post anymore as he’s completing university studies as well as delivering online training and mentoring courses.

I was wondering about Tom Reingold this week…anyone in touch with him?

According to my profile, I joined on my birthday in 2001, so I've been here 20 years plus a couple of weeks. That's six years before I joined Facebook.  I suppose I'm more active there now because there are just more discussions and friends who are there but not here, but I try to keep up here.

My profile also says I've posted over 26,000 comments.  That's kinda scary!

ETA - Whoever commented about the difficulty of searching Facebook compared to MOL is totally correct, despite our long-time complaints about searching here.  (It has gotten better, but I suspect we would still be complaining about it if we didn't have Facebook to compare to in that regard.)

Several years ago, you helped me pick 2 paint colors (a burgundy accent wall, and taupe other walls/ceilings) for a room. During the shutdown, I've been using this room as my work-from-home office. I get compliments on how nice it looks from the many people I virtually meet with.

Yes, I remember! And then last year at the beginning of the pandemic I had just gotten my auto-ship nutritional yeast when you reached out looking for some!

That’s one reason why I keep coming back to MOL. Even though we are “anonymous”  I feel like I have a long history with many people here and it’s nice to stay connected.

After 20 years or so that some of us have been posting here, we have become a family.  The nice thing about this family is that we can keep welcoming new members.
