Is it OK with you that Ted Nugent is inciting violence against President Obama? archived

You are all so off base. Wow. Typical left wing dodge and weave.

So the argument is that the US Secret Service and FBI spent 8 years not doing their job, or is it that when somebody threatens to kill the president it's cool, because the US Secret Service and the FBI didn't give a ***** about Bush?

It's hard to argue with such a well-crafted defense of Ted Nugent but I think a sentence or two might be missing.

Surprise, surprise. It's about lefties; and probably about Ted's "freedom." Zoinks, combined with your Evil Empire thread, you've lost any cred you ever had. You've become a caricature.

Yes. Didn't you "know" there's a strong lib-Dem streak in these defense agencies.

He (TN) is stupid. Period.

Re Zoinks: Let's guess: Ron Paul would suggest that secret service should be a private agency, paid for with private money.

Neither. It's about hypocrites whose outrage meter is dependent on who is being threatened with death.

I'm moving to Canada if Ted Nugent wins the election.

Zoinks, let me help you down the path to remedial enlightenment, towards baseline functioning, with a few questions:

1) How many people would fly in a plane if the FAA were privatized?

2) How many people would eat meat if the FDA were privatized?

3) How many people would give banks their money without the FDIC?

Regulators in the US are not hostile to business. They are its lackeys. They use the resources of the government to promote business, and the regulators spend their time working for the taxxpayers instead auditioning for their next job- in business Business loves our regulators, in private, because they own them. They only talk a certain way in public so imbeciles will vote Republican.

I believe he declined Secret Service protection.

Ted may be a bit nuts but he is harmless as were his statements.

But enjoy your delegitimization process. The left has really perfected it.

Not a single instance of a celebrity given time on a major network, as Fox frequently does Nugent, before a major organization, as the NRA, speaking of killing Bush. Nice try, trailer-park.

Z: Obviously Ted Nugent isn't going to shoot the president. The concern is that he might convince some guy in the crowd that he should shoot the president.

Do you really not get that?

1 and 3 at least I would fully advocate. We would have a much more efficient air traffic control system if it was directly run and paid for by the airlines. They have an incentive to see that things are safe. And both people and banks would be more careful with money if there was not government back stop to reckless behavior.

Total bunk.

No one should feel a need to constrain what they say because of what someone else "may" do.

Charles Manson killed Sharon Tate because of Helter Skelter so lets ban the Beatles.

Ted is an idiot. I don't agree or condone in ANY way what he did.

Do I believe he could incite someone to try and assisinate Obama? No. No more than any other person in the world.

I remember several "stars" saying the same sort of things when Bush was in office. Did I give it credence then? No.

Hold on, I'm going to stop by a crowded theater to test your theory.

Yeah, Bush would have had a third term without it.

Including Jodie Foster?

Also, which stars threatened Bush? I can't remember any (not being wise, I really can't).

LOL read the thread buddy- it quickly turned from Nugent to the NRA and Tea Party. Try to keep up!

Re reading your posts....I'm falling for it aren't I? That is some quality trolling but you tip your hand....nobody on the left is that much of a quivering ball of pathos, emotional instability and lack of self control. The character you are playing would be unable to even see the screen through the HYSTERICAL tears.

I gotta give you only a 7/10.

Z: Please look up the word "incite".

Anyway, what I really care about is the fact that a complete nut like Ted is a plenary speaker for an organization with enough political power to make virtually all political candidates too afraid to stand up to them on anything at all related to gun control and to push through legislation like "Stand Your Ground", against the wishes of every police force in the country. It seems to me that the increasing radicalism within the NRA has brought them an increasing amount of political clout. I find it disturbing, especially because the data seems to show that there is NOT strong political support in the U.S. for the more radical elements of the NRA agenda.

This article in the New Yorker has a lot of interesting information about the history of the NRA. The founders of the organization would be amazed and dismayed, I think, at what they have become.
(Despite the title, the article is not really focused on the killing of Treyvon Martin)

http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2012/04/23/120423fa_fact_lepore

This all seems a bit overblown. Whackjobs who are going to be incited by this are already incited and already dangerous. If it's not Ted Nugent's words that give them whatever "permission" they think they need to act out, it will be some other nutcase's words.

This. You can't compare this to what Rosen said--no matter how you parse her statement. Rosen is a smart woman, Ted Nugent is an idiot.

Jodie Foster didn't incite anyone. Hinckley was a whackjob.

Jeez, if all the lefties have is the Nuge making a comment that can be construed in many different ways-Nov will be a walkover.

Brad Pitt wants his shirt back...
