Looks like Wildstein is going to plead guilty to something today. Presser at 1pm.
(oops - didn't read through the end of the thread. You're all way ahead of me.)

Christie Ally Expected to Plead Guilty in New Jersey Bridge Lane Closings
My first reaction... What does Kirstie Alley have to do with Bridgegate?

And speaking of politics and entertainment, why did Ashton Carter divorce Demi Moore? ;-)
Wildstein looks completely different - apparently has lost 90 pounds, grew a beard too. My reaction was that it was due to stress, but apparently he cut sugar from his diet:

My bet is Wildstein takes the fall, brings down perhaps one or two more aides with him, sticks a finger in the eye of some folks at the Port Authority, and specifically exonerates the Round Mound of Smack Down from being involved at all.
Wildstein takes a plea deal; implicates others.

The big man will remain as Governor. However the small hope that he would ever get the Republican Presidential Nomination is now gone.
The country's gain is New Jersey's loss. Be brave fellow Jersey citizen..........his days in office are trickling down to a precious few.
I wonder if JLD is still out there reading MOL. And I wonder if he still has his man-crush on the big guy. Even he would have a hard time defending the guv on this one.
It would be much easier if he just came out and said "We're not talking about Chris Christie today." Listening to him side-step the million questions is hilarious.
Christie is a self serving and ineffective governor...his behavior has been largely repugnant...but again with the weight references? Isnt there enough concrete material to reach for instead of the lowest hanging fruit? I expect derogatory comments about physical appearance from his supporters not detractors...it makes you no better than schoolyard bullies...or his supporters.

If I were in CC's position, I would rather be called fat than be accused of being utterly self-absorbed at the expense of the entire State of New Jersey. I consider the latter accusation to be much more serious, especially as it is a conscious choice on his part.
Prosecutor announced 2 indictments -- Baroni and Kelly. Prosecutor says not likely to indict anyone else in the GW Bridge thing -- guessing evidence not strong enough to indict. But Samson appears to a target for his abuses at the PANYNJ. From the NY Times article:
2 Indicted in George Washington Bridge Case; Ally of Christie Pleads Guilty Photo Credit Kirsten Luce for The New York TimesAfter a 16-month federal investigation into the George Washington Bridge lane closings scandal, a judge in New Jersey on Friday unsealed indictments against two people close to Gov. Chris Christie, outlining a conspiracy to exact political vengeance against a mayor for his failure to endorse the governor’s re-election.
Breaking his long silence over the inquiry, the United States attorney for New Jersey, Paul J. Fishman, announced the indictments at a news conference on Friday afternoon. He said that the conspirators carried out the plan in a way to “callously” inflict maximum pain on the citizens of Fort Lee, purposely scheduling it to coincide with the first day of school. Then, he said, they sought to cover up the scheme with a “sham” story of a traffic study.
Bill Baroni, the former deputy executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and Bridget Anne Kelly, a former deputy chief of staff to Mr. Christie, were charged with nine counts of conspiracy to commit fraud, including “knowingly converting and intentionally misapplying property of an organization receiving federal benefits.”David Wildstein, another former Port Authority official and a high school friend of Mr. Christie, pleaded guilty at the United States District Court in Newark to conspiracy to commit fraud and conspiracy against civil rights.
Mr. Fishman said that Mr. Wildstein corroborated the allegations in the indictment.
“Based on the evidence that is currently available to us, we’re not going to charge anyone else in this scheme,” Mr. Fishman said.
However, Mr. Wildstein’s lawyer, Alan Zegas, reiterated on Friday his client’s contention that “evidence exists” that Mr. Christie knew about the closings as they occurred.
“There is a lot more that will come out,” he said. “Unfortunately, I am not in a position to talk about the matter in detail.”
Mr. Christie did not appear to be implicated in the indictments, and has steadfastly denied any participation in the scheme. However, Mr. Baroni was quoted in the indictment as saying the lane closings were “important to Trenton.”

You got a problem wit dat?

Unfortunately, I'd have to disagree with that assessment. He's been quite effective at destroying the State in an effort to improve his bona fides as a Republican acceptable to that Party's base.

Can the donation be contingent on her spilling the beans on Christie?
Bridget Kelly squares off against Wildstein. This will get worse as Baroni will eventually weigh in.

A great article on the governor:

Oh, FFS, she's trying to say that she was kidding with the "Time for some traffic" email?
I guess it was also a funny joke to avoid the Mayor's phone calls at the gov's office.
Ha.

No more indictments, though. So Christie blows it off?
Based on the evidence they currently have Investigation continues. Fishman slipped on that and said that it was ongoing
Kelly and Baroni are being arraigned Monday morning at 11. Can't wait. More of the NYT blog here:

Also, she is a liar. I don't care what she says. As the interim school superintendent pointed out, it's really disturbing to think that they deliberately planned their actions to target children. I hope she and the rest of these jerks enjoy prison.

As my kids would say, "jinx!" I hope that he sings and we get a similar plea from Bridget Kelly soon, too.
