Under a law that took effect in 2012, school districts have the option to move their elections to November. The vast majority of NJ districts have done so.

Voter turnout in April for BOE elections was abysmal. Voter turnout in November is not good but better than it used to be in April

A new resident just asked how it came about that the Board of Ed Elections were moved from May to November. Was this simply by vote of the Board or was there some other process?
