Well, now we know how it will end (at least for 3 weeks anyway)
Pelosi wins again. Trump gets nothing. What an ***.
Mr. "Art of the Deal" shut the govt down for five weeks and got bupkis. What a jackass. Even if a person is a MAGA, they have to know this was complete incompetence on Trump's part.
I was following https://fivethirtyeight.com/. It was becoming very clear how this was going to work out.

unicorn33,
of the women running who do you think would have the best chance? My current favorites are Harris and Warren, although Warren confused me with her emphasis on the wealth tax. I had a hard time identifying her example of a person laden with paintings and inherited possessions who was earning a modest income. Maybe I need better examples. I think she had Chris Hayes a bit confused as well.
Speculation at this point is not terribly meaningful, because it's a loooong road ahead, and there will be a number of other names popping up. And, who knows, maybe Trump will have been forced to drop out by then, which would change the situation significantly.

(And, correct me if I'm wrong, but even in 2016, 2/3 of white, non-college-educated women voted for Trump, despite everything.)
Note these Times stats from 2016 article. Scary. https://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/01/us/politics/white-women-helped-elect-donald-trump.html
Trump can now give his SOTU speech and blame the Democrats if they don't give him funding for his wall.
"Democrats have been saying for weeks they’ll negotiate on wall funding when the government is open. POTUS is now giving them yet ANOTHER opportunity to come to the table. Americans will be able to judge for themselves whether Democrats are truly serious about securing our border."

so he's doubling down on the stupid
what a joke the whole thing was. Big to-do and screwing with people’s lives for no good reason. Arguably the low point of trump presidency (so far). Disgraceful.

Exit polls are like ghosts. Nothing to be afraid of if you don’t believe in them.

The longer it dragged on with increasing news reports about people suffering and the impact on safety, the worse it became for Trump. Shot himself in the foot. To think that Trump made threats about the possibility of the shut-down lasting for months.
