Health care bill is ailing

Another thought - there is no reason to limit universal health care to a single payer option (although I like that). The government could require all citizens to purchase health insurance from private markets with with minimum requirements to be sure everything is covered.

The cost of health care is another and critically important issue. We should regulate drug prices and end the gouging, we should end punitive damages for malpractice (not compensatory damages, just punitive damages) to stop the ambulance chasing and also unnecessary testing done for liability reasons. We should also explore more paying for positive results not only for services rendered. I am sure there are many other approaches that would help begin to control the costs of health care.

this was truly a disgusting display. The skinny bill was basically a "trust us, vote for it now without many details and then we promise we'll come up with a plan later". That is no way to run a government. Anyone who voted yes for this last night should be ashamed.

I should have added: allow all appropriately rated insurance companies to offer in any/all states.

Collins and Murkowski managed to vote against it on principle, without all of the theatrics.

You just described Obamacare.

Lead story on Fox: http://www.foxnews.com/politic... Just not too clear as to how soon.  I wasn't aware that McConnell revoked the first 2 weeks of the August recess.  I didn't think this would happen after the vote.

strange use of the word "hope"
