Guilty pleasures - Fast Food Favorites

Mogo's Korean taco's on the boardwalk, Asbury Park

Yes - a big reason to go to Asbury Park.

I get a number one with a coke from McD's every so often.  After the Big Mac my second favorite sandwich is the McGriddle with bacon, egg and cheese.

White Manna burgers in Hackensack

5 guys fries

shake shack mushroom burger

popeyes fried chicken/biscuits

^this.  I can't believe that wasn't my first response. I love Mogo.

My brave brother and his friends swear by White Castle for hungovers. I'm not nearly brave enough to try them as I've heard they're a natural dieuretic.

I will add:  when one is profoundly hungover, nothing beats an Egg McMuffin and hash browns from McD's....

White Castle on the corner of Bloomfield and Rt. 23 was our hangover stop. Waitress -- of a certain age-- would look at us every Saturday morning and just bring out the coffee.

Claridge Diner was next to it. (Cheesecake, anyone). Now the site is a car dealership. What a waste of space.

BTW, CHEESECAKE? Stirling Diner but ask for the fresh fruit.

Don't love In-N-Out.  I think it is overrated.  Love Five guys more (but again unsure if that's fast food).

Sort of like saying you don't like the Beatles but you love Liverpool Legends.

Oh that's not fair. Five Guys is at least Hermans Hermits.

In-n-out is more like the Monkeys.

Oh, and I forgot.  Greys Papaya.  2 dogs and a banana drink.  Yummmm.

forgot about Papaya king... now I need to go to the one on 86th and 3rd....

+2

Digging the special price lately, too.

Clairidge Diner, I remember!  Much more than a diner.  A restaurant of wonderful dishes.  Wish they were still here.

It was the Claremont Diner, not the Claridge.

I've been dying to have that Korean-Mexican fusion. I hear it's great in LA and other west coast places.

My daughter lived near one of those places (called Seoul Taco) in St Louis and it was great!  I didn't know we had one around here ... although closer than Asbury Park would be nice.

Nathan's fries with the little devil fork so you can poke your friendsoh oh

They have the opposite effect on me. And they taste vile, too.

I remember my first visit to a Jimmy Buff's. This was very early in my life as a transplanted New Yorker into Jersey, and I was quite put off by the sight of that stuff sitting in a pile of grease. And as an Italian, I was puzzled at this thing called an "Italian Hot Dog". I'd never seen such a thing.

JB's never became a go to place for me. Though I have no objection to the ingredients of an IHD. I might make one for myself tonight actually. Need potatoes though....

Unless I just use the Sweeney Potatoes I made last night. Now there's an idea...
