Guilty pleasures - Fast Food Favorites

If the falafel cart counts then chicken/lamb combos on rice from a halal cart was my favorite go-to when I didn't bring my own lunch back in Queens. I miss that option.

I have a halal cart near work. It's not great, but it's good. I like lamb over rice. But the pita bread is spongy.

love Chipotle.

Agree on Two Boots. (Very good but unsure about "fast food").

Don't love In-N-Out.  I think it is overrated.  Love Five guys more (but again unsure if that's fast food).

Bacon Cheese Turtle Burgers...

This but with a strawberry shake.

Sort of like saying you don't like the Beatles but you love Liverpool Legends.

We have a mom-and-pop burrito shop near work as well as a Chipotle. It dismays me to see my cow-orkers go for the latter, as the former is so much better. But service is much slower.

I have a major weakness for Burger King double cheeseburgers, ketchup only (in other words, no pickle).

I also love egg mcmuffins and hash browns, if both are fresh.

McD's chicken mcnuggets with sweet and sour sauce are also good, but I miss the much fattier and sketchy mcnuggets of my youth.

BTW a Chipotle will be opening next to the Bed Bath & Beyond on Morris Turnpike in Springfield. Construction has started.

Any South Texans here? Bill Miller's chicken fingers with cream gravy.

5 Guys single patty and fries.

White Castle sliders and fish (no cheese) with hot sauce.

Stony's (O.K., not a chain) Grilled cheese sandwich with gorgonzola, cherry peppers, pickle, fried mushrooms and bbq sauce.

Stony's (O.K., not a chain) Grilled cheese sandwich with gorgonzola, cherry peppers, pickle, fried mushrooms and bbq sauce. I ordered it by accident (don't ask) and it was excellent.

Shake Shack: burgers (of course), also Chicago Dogs, and the Shroomburger (a deepfried, cheese-stuffed portobello). And a Concrete.

Although, sadly, the burgers aren't quite the same one you leave the NY area. Different beef.

Balancing guilty pleasure with nutrition, I realize soda and fries are junkier than most of the other stuff. A couple of years ago, I had to stop at a NY Thruway stop, and the only place was Burger King. Rather than get a sandwich, fries, and a soda, I got three burgers.

Yeah...I can be a serious hypocriteoh oh

Chick-Fil-A... Cobb Salad or Deluxe sandwhich

You win the award for a double guilty pleasure - unhealthy AND politically unsavory. oh oh

Popeye's, with a biscuit, hands down.  Will go out of my way for that.

Nathan's fries and hot dogs would be second.

Well if you're including food carts, then I'd have to add knishes and shish kabobs.  Though they now serve the shish kabobs with bread, which seems weird to me since as a kid they always just came as meat on a stick, nothing else.

McDonald's French Fries.  Hands down the best "normal" french fries around.  (Although, if you are in Texas, you can get equally good fries at Whataburger.)  I DO love the SmashFries at Smash Burger, but I don't consider them "normal" fries.

Oh yeah, Nathan's tube steaks and fries.

Oh that's not fair. Five Guys is at least Hermans Hermits.

****. Dave Clark Five.

(Heh. Only meant Noone was Mr. One Guy Too Many.)

That Korrito looks pretty good.

After being reminded by other posts, I'll add...

Agreement on the superiority of McD's French Fries.
As loathsome as Corporate is, Chik-Fil-A makes a damn fine chicken sammich.
I like the Whopper, though I manage to hold myself to only getting a Jr. when the need arises.
Sausage McMuffin with Egg is the name (someone mentioned one earlier but forgot what it was called.)
Once a year or so I get a craving for a Big Mac. I think I'm due now, actually.

and finally

The Egg McMuffin is not too dry! cheese

Except for the bbq sauce, that sounds delicious. (I don't get BBQ sauce. Usually too sweet and overpowers everything.)

Just one 2-finger piece of KFC with 70/30 ratio of crispy skin/dark meat dunked in gravy laden mash potato could possibly be the solution to world peace.

I will add:  when one is profoundly hungover, nothing beats an Egg McMuffin and hash browns from McD's....

Mogo's Korean taco's on the boardwalk, Asbury Park

I've been dying to have that Korean-Mexican fusion. I hear it's great in LA and other west coast places.
